Scholarship available for Wisconsin Wing cadets

The Brian LaViolette Scholarship Foundation has announced that, for the fourth consecutive year, it is awarding a scholarship in honor of Captain Thomas J. Hudner, USN (ret).  Capt Hudner was the first Medal of Honor recipient from the Korean War.

The award provides a $500.00 financial scholarship along with a Scholarship of Honor Medal.  The scholarship will be awarded at Wing Conference. Only Wisconsin Wing CAP cadets are eligible.

To apply a cadet must be:
  • A graduating senior in high school
  • An active Wisconsin Wing Civil Air Patrol cadet having demonstrated leadership within the wing
  • Entering the U.S. Armed Forces OR a form of community service or public safety (e.g. law enforcement, criminal justice, EMT, fire safety, teaching, ministry, social work, nursing, or any medical field) after high school graduation.
To apply, complete the scholarship application and send to the committee. The deadline for this year's scholarship is 15 March 2017. Application forms can be downloaded on the wing website.
