City Seeks Input on Draft General Plan
Planning has played a vital role in the City of Folsom, and has shaped the vibrant, family-oriented community we know today. As mandated by state law, California cities must have a General Plan that outlines land use and development policies, objectives and standards. The City of Folsom is currently updating its General Plan-- a blueprint for how the City will deal with a changing world over the next 20 years. Community members are encouraged to attend and provide comments at one of the many public workshops that are scheduled. A Preliminary Public Review Draft of the General Plan is available at www.Folsom2035.com. Find public workshop dates and more details.

3D Printing Presentation February 18
3D printing - the process of making three-dimensional solid objects from digital designs - is an emerging technology that will be central to advances in fields such as manufacturing, medicine, and space colonization.
Learn more about this expanding field at a presentation hosted by the Folsom Public Library on Saturday, February 18 from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Learn from industry veteran Jeramie Ivie about the 3D printing industry, new technologies and futuristic applications that are making headlines.
The Folsom Public Library is home to a 3D printing lab, and the Lab's six 3D printers are available every Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. In the first year of operation, more than 700 people have visited the Lab - printing everything from household objects to homework assignments. The Lab was made possible by grant funding from the Intel Foundation. Thanks to many public donations of the plastic filament needed to print 3D objects, printing remains free to the public. Plastic filament donations are always welcome.
