Our February Newsletter contains a number of interesting articles and bits of useful information. Particular note should be made of the warning to Quickbooks users regarding phishing scams currently going around. With tax season in full swing churches, ministers and individuals should be careful when sharing information to ensure that you are taking every precaution available to protect your identity and data.
We also want to extend a warm welcome to our newest members, the Next Generation Association of Northern California and Nevada. Several churches in the Association are long time individual members of CMA and have benefited greatly from their involvement so this year the Association purchased a special "group membership" package that will allow all their active member churches take advantage of all the benefits offered in our PremiumPlus package. If you think a group membership might be good for your association or denomination please give us a call. We would be happy to help you share the benefits of CMA with all your members.
As always, if we can be of any assistance to your ministry please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours in His Service,
Steve Boersma

Five common misunderstandings about
employee discipline and documentation
Disciplinary Action
There is no legal definition of what constitutes a write-up, nor is there a definition of what is required to be in an employee's personnel file. So, recollections about verbal warnings, e-mails, letters, even notes on napkins can be evidence to support an employer's position that an employee was terminated because of performance issues.
Employers should remember that if an employee challenges the reason for their termination, having written documentation on file can be helpful in supporting the employers' position.
