The Road Less Traveled
A video began making the rounds on Facebook earlier this week. You may have seen it. Since it involves baptism - and many of my Facebook friends are fellow pastors - it was all over my newsfeed. The video depicts a series of infant baptisms in what appears to be a Russian Orthodox Church. If you're not familiar with the Orthodox Church, it traces its origins back to 1054, when a schism erupted between...

Support Prison Ministries
Epiphany weekends: February 2-5 and February 17-20
Please help support  ministries reaching out to those who are in  prison!  Several members of our congregation are part of  ministry teams that go into Texas  prisons, offering Christ's love and redemption.  Epiphany  Ministries share the story of God's love, grace, and forgiveness to incarcerated youth; Kairos  Ministries offer the same to adults who are imprisoned.

For $5, you can purchase a meal ticket, which provides a meal for an inmate participating in a  ministry weekend. Your meal ticket offers them a tangible reminder that they still have value and that they are not forgotten. You can also sign-up to pray for the weekend!  Simply add your name to the prayer chain at the Connection Center and make a commitment to pray for all those involved in the weekends:  the inmates, the  ministry team, the  prison chaplain and staff.

We have an Epiphany weekend coming up Feb. 17-20, for incarcerated teenage girls.  We are also supporting a new Epiphany Ministry in Kansas, the first weekend on February.  Please sign-up today to support the Lord's work to the least, the last, and the lost in our  prisons.  For more info, contact  Trudy Smith .
