Holy Rosary School

Dear Parents,

This week we were visited by a great group of people for our WCEA/WASC Accreditation. They were here Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The team met with the faculty & staff, parents and students. They were really impressed with the classrooms and the Catholic learning happening in each. I am grateful for the teachers and students who should them the power of our Catholic school. Here are two thank you cards from the Visiting Team. More information will be shared in the coming weeks regarding their report.

I would like to take this opportunity to welcome John VanderKlugt onto our Holy Rosary School campus. He will be assisting staff with the monitoring of all outside activities on campus during school days. This will include enforcing drop-off and pick-up procedures as well as the procedures for checking in with the office staff for all guests entering onto campus. Mr. VanderKlugt has been a familiar face at Holy Rosary for over 25 years and is very familiar with not only Holy Rosary School procedures, but what is going on around our campus as well. Please feel free to approach him as you enter onto campus if you need any assistance or simply want to introduce yourself to him.

When we return from our winter break, we will kick off Dr. Seuss Week! Be sure to check out all the different bulletin boards in the hallways during this week and let's make it our goal to have 100% participation in our Dr. Seuss Day Book Collection benefiting the CCC Foster Care ho mes (see the flyer in this newsletter). As part of the week's activities, we invite everyone to wear "silly socks" on Thursday, March 2nd and join us for breakfast in the Dominican Hall at 7:30am (cereal, bananas & milk) as we celebrate Read Across America!

The Church Season of Lent begins with Ash Wednesday is March 1st. Please join us for Mass at 10:00 am.

Under the Moonlight is coming! Our School/Parish Auction will be held April 1st. Tickets are $30 each. It will be a fun evening with classroom projects, teacher outings and a ton of baskets all available to bid on. Come and join in the fun.

Come out to Holy Rosary School Night at the A's Game on April 22nd. Tickets now on sale at the school. Buy your tickets to support the 8th grade class.

I hope everyone enjoys their winter break next week and please remember there is no school February 20th-24th.

Blessings,

Mr. Hooke

One of our school families, the Rubios, is in need of prayer and support. We were shared the following gofundme page. If you would like to support them, please visit the following link.

One of our families in our second grade class has lost their home to a broken water main, which destroyed their home. They lost clothing and many other items that are needed for day-to-day basis. If you would like to contribute please see Mrs. Vanderklugt in second grade.
ATTENTION! PLEASE READ!
