Meeting Notes  2-21-17
Total attendance-29, members-23, other Kiwanis members-3 (Bob Kemper, Larry and Darcy Memmer), Guests-Kristi Burge (speaker), Jaci Lageson (Minnesota), Lindsey Lenhart (former CKI President). Nice to have Karen Hurst, Diane Connell and the Dodson's with us today. 50/50 today was won by Everett Shell.
Announcements

Thanks everyone for bringing  in long sleeve t-shirts for Ada for the migrant workers in Immokalee. Bring them any Tuesday. 
 
We will keep everyone updated on any memorial service for Tom. In his memory Ian and Nancy Nelson are going to put some "in memory" tags on the outgoing bears. If you want to make a contribution see Ian. 
 
Ian thanked all the volunteers for helping tag, wrap, and tie boxes of teddy wears.

 

Committee Reports

CKI-The club that we co-sponsor at FGCU has invited us to dinner. An invitation will be sent to all members in our club. The celebration is March 2nd at 5:00pm. 

Oasis Room-we are lucky to have many volunteers each week.

Service project with Luvybear Quilts 4 Tots, Inc. was last Saturday. Thanks Cathy Smith for
chairing the project and Ian and Nancy Nelson for hosting it. Joining them in service were; Barbara Hartman, Shar Grant, Cathy's friend Barbara, Ada Trapanese and Kim Berghs.

 
Today's Program: AMIKids

Our speaker today was Krisit Moore-Burge from AMI Kids of SW Florida. This is a program under the Dept. of Juvenile Justice. They focus on academics, experiental education, behavior modification. They also provide mental health & substance abuse counseling and anger management. They are looking for tutors and mentors, school supplies and donations for rewards,
