Federation CEO, Adam Silver , participated in a multicultural roundtable discussion that will help guide the redevelopment of Alberta's K-12 curriculum . Minister of Education, David Eggen , led the discussion, and members of the provincial curriculum development team were present along with representatives from other faith groups.

PJ Library ® for Russian Speaking Families celebrated the end of a successful year at Parents Night Out - Paint Nite . Thirty people tested their artistic skills and enjoyed a social evening of art. The Genesis Philanthropy Group funds this outreach and engagement program in Calgary, where an average of 30 children attend regular PJ Library programs in Russian, providing them and their families with an opportunity to connect with one another and the Jewish community.

Inspired by his own experiences and those of his family, Michael has written the book, Bipolar Wellness . It is part memoir and part strategic actions for every stage of recovery. Please join us for a fascinating presentation followed by a Q&A session on Wednesday, August 1 at 7pm . Refreshments will be served. This inclusive event is co-sponsored by Calgary JCC and Calgary Jewish Federation .

Diana Kalef , Director of Development, with her husband, Elliott Steinberg, had an opportunity to visit our P2G region on a recent trip to Israel. Projects they visited included a Federation-funded daycare and nursery school playground in Yesud HaMa'ala. A key highlight was the Leadership Development Program 'Galil UP' which consists of 25 trained and mentored participants who work side-by-side with local mayors, and Israeli and Canadian professionals in the region.
