Reinhardt University's Community Gathering Feb. 22 focused on celebrating Black History Month with a presentation that included hymns, a reading of W.E.B. Du Bois' My Country 'Tis of Thee, a theatrical presentation of part of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson and a presentation from Tony Harrison, a Cherokee County resident and one of the first franchisees of Cousins Maine Lobster. ... Reinhardt University is headed to Rome Feb. 28 for Alumni and Friends After Hours at First United Methodist Church, located on East 3rd Avenue in Rome. With the help of two Rome residents and Reinhardt University Board of Trustees Raymond Cox and Richard Dixon, the event will include a presentation by President Dr. Kina S. Marguerite Cline: Kina Mallard and Reinhardt University are like peas and carrots

Waleska resident and former city mayor, Marguerite Cline, used her space in the Feb. 24 edition of the Cherokee Tribune to talk about Reinhardt President Kina Mallard and the University of which she is very fond.

Cline referenced the famous line from Forrest Gump to talk about Dr. Mallard and the University she graduated from in 1958.

Cline served on the presidential search committee a few years ago with the Board of Trustees was searching for a new leader for the University. As Mrs. Cline puts it, the search committee "got it right." ...  Read More
Dr. Karen Owen to sign books at two different library events

Reinhardt University's newest author will be signing copies of her book next month on campus and in Canton.

Dr. Karen Owen, assistant professor of political science, will be at the Hill Freeman Library and Spruill Learning Center March 15 and the R.T. Jones Library in Canton on March 13. She will be signing copies of her new book, "Women Officeholders and the Role Models Who Pioneered the Way." ... Read More

Reinhardt to host its first Spring Alumni Day

Reinhardt University will host an all-day event March 25 geared at bringing alumni back home to Waleska.

The event will start with a "meet and greet" with Provost Dr. Mark Roberts and continue through the day with a barbecue lunch, activities for children, and class, fraternity and sorority reunions.

Games kicked off Friday morning in the 2017 Reinhardt Softball Invitational at Ken White Softball Field and the Lady Eagles swept the start. Games are set throughout the weekend. Tickets cost $5 for single-day admission and $10 for a tournament pass.  ... Read More
