Live United - United Way
It's All Kinected!

Kinexus understands that the success of our community lies in connecting individuals and businesses with the right opportunities for growth, engagement, and change. This philosophy is practiced through their work in the community, as well as part of their daily office culture. One of the ways they accomplish this is by providing their employees with opportunities to showcase their leadership skills through their office's United Way campaign.

2016 Campaign Update

We are very excited to announce our attainment for the 2016 Campaign at this year's Annual Celebration in March.   It is a blessing to be part of such an amazing community that truly represents how to LIVE UNITED. We appreciate every single individual who has a relationship with United Way of Southwest Michigan.  By donating either financially to the campaign or of your time when volunteering, you are a key part of changing the lives of our friends and neighbors in need.

Nancy Studebaker-Barringer is the Director of the Niles District Library, a 2017 VITA site.  She recently spoke with United Way of Southwest Michigan about her 20+ year experience as a volunteer with the VITA program.

Below is a link to a survey that asks, what are your aspirations for our community? What challenges do you see? What could help this community be better? At United Way of Southwest Michigan, we realize that we need to reach out to YOU to find out what this community really needs. You see the conditions that we live in everyday and we want your feedback.   We will be using the information you provide to determine our next Agenda for Change and how our work aligns with the community's aspirations.

Did you earn less than $64,000 in 2016?

United Way promotes www.MyFreeTaxes.com to help support the health, education, and financial stability of every person in every community, and maximizing your tax refund is a key step towards that goal.  Watch the video below, or visit www.MyFreeTaxes.com to see how you can file your taxes...for FREE!

And there is a new way to help those in need in Southwest Michigan this year. United Way is encouraging residents to "Check Off" for the United Way Fund on their Michigan tax returns.   Last year over $13,000 worth of gift cards were purchased to help people through the holiday season.  For more information, please visit  www.uwmich.org/tax-check-off.
