Dear Members of the Diocese

The Office of the Bishop and the Southwark Deanery are pleased to announce, in the name of Jesus, that services will be offered at St Stephen's, Philadelphia once again.

The Rev. Peter Kountz will be distributing ashes at Saint Stephen's on Ash Wednesday, March 1 from 7:30 am to 10:00 am.

Instead of "ashes on the go," we will guide people into the sanctuary, offer them ashes and a blessing, and a chance to sit for a few minutes in reflection before they head off.

Even more important is the fact that we will begin our weekday services on Tuesday, March 7 at 12:15 pm. We will hold 12:15 pm services on Wednesday and Thursday as well.

These three weekday services will be the core of our worship program going forward and will be especially important since we will not hold Sunday services.

During the week, the Parish House will be open Monday through Thursday and we will open the church at 12 noon on worship service days.

Next week, we will send a PDF that you can use as an attachment with an email blast to your congregants and colleagues outside of the Deanery, should you wish to do so. And as we settle in a little bit more, we will invite all of you to come Saint Stephen's for a visit and conversation about how we plan to be sacred place whose primary purpose is the care of souls.

With grateful blessings for your interest and support.

Father Peter K.
