Youth Connection
Our Youth Department Newsletter
March 12th, 2017

We embraced the core value of play last week with a safe and fun variation of hockey during Sunday Funday. Who knew that you could have so much fun with some swimming noodles and a waffle ball. All the youth were winners as they expressed good sportsmanship, zeal, and work ethic.  Today we finish up The Teachings of Jesus lessons before moving onto the Peace Pizzazz curriculum.

March is full of fun things to do at the church and next weekend there is fun for the whole family. Saturday the 18th is Chili Bingo.  Not only do you get to sample some amazing tasting chili's you can also win prizes and make new friends as you try to be the first to fill up that bingo card. Child care will be provided and we'd appreciate that you let us know that you are coming by signing up at the information area in the lobby.  Don't forget to grab those unwanted items that you saved for regifting to bring as prize winnings.  One for each player please.

Then on Sunday (next week) we will be breaking bread together after service.  The 19th is bring a friend to church day and after the service we will all break bread together in the fellowship hall.  We encourage your youth to bring a friend as well and if there is enough interest we will move the tables and grab the noodles and waffle ball.  Yes, I'm joking.  But it is no joke that after today you only have one more Sunday to purchase a flower to help out our YOU/Uniteens with their fundraiser.  Remember it is just $12 for an Easter Lilly, tulip, hyacinth, or daffodil plant.

The paperwork is available for the upcoming Uniteen retreat, please see me if you middle schooler is interested in attending.

Use your imagination to visualize the world you want.

Peace and Love,

** Retreat Policy:  To make it affordable for all that want to attend the Youth Spiritual Retreats, Unity Of Kalamazoo pays for 1/3 of the cost, fundraising pays for 1/3, and the family pays 1/3.  Scholarships are also available if paying 1/3 is not an option for any family.  We want each child to be able to benefit from the experience these retreats offer. The cost of the chaperones for the event and the cost of travel is combined for a final total before the 1/3 formula is utilized.  This allows the chaperones that volunteer their entire weekend to the event to attend without having to pay for it as well.
Closing
Our prayers go out to all those supporting our Youth Department.  We appreciate and are grateful for our teachers, angels, chaperons, financial supporters, supply donators, and those holding the Youth Department in prayer. We continue to pray for the right and perfect people to join us in the Youth Department.
