Enjoy the Convenience of Online Giving
Our Savior Lutheran Church wants to remind you that we offer electronic giving as a way to automate your regular weekly offering. Electronic giving offers convenience for individual congregation members and provides much-needed donation consistency for our congregation.
Think about all the household bills you might already have on an automatic electronic payment plans...
NW Natural Gas, PGE, Sanitation Service, Water & Sewer, Cable TV/Satellite, Life & Health Insurance, Newspaper & Magazine subscriptions, fitness club, cell phone.... just about every regular bill you have can be put on "auto-pay". It saves time, it's convenient and it's safe! Plus you save on postage (which just went up) and paper.
Why not add your offering to OSLC to the list of convenient electronic payments you're making while at the same time helping the church?
Direct Debit Giving is used to automatically transfer funds from your checking or savings account to the church's bank account. Credit & Debit Card Giving allows you to make offerings automatically on a pre-determined schedule using a credit or debit card.
Online Giving allows you to go to
www.oursaviorslo.org at any time to set up an automatic donation plan, change your donation plan, make a one-time donation or view your online donation history.
As you contemplate future contributions, please consider electronic giving. Here's our
FAQ sheet and you can get additional information from the church office.

Don't miss this incredible event!
The Quilters need your help!
Our Savior's Quilters are in need of medium sized carboard b
oxes to ship their beautiful creations to Lutheran World Relief. If you have boxes left over from a recent move, or an Amazon delivery, please contact: Lene Leslie 503-704-6926.
From the House of Zion we send our appreciation to the members who delivered clothing from the Friendsview Retirement sale. Along with the clothing that is frequently donated by Sam's Attic, we are able to help many families.
All of the goods are gone within a day of delivery. The need is great and ever present. We are blessed by the works of your church.
Thank you,
Marta and Polo Garcia

|
The Book Discussion Group starts on the new book this Sunday. We meet upstairs in the Library at 10 a.m. The book is titled,"How To Read the Bible and Still Be Christian", by John Dominic Crossan. It deals with the question of violence in the Bible and reconciling it with a loving God. Newcomers welcome.
Pastor Kim leads a Sunday class on Christian history and those who helped create it. This October will mark the 500th anniversary of the Reformation and to help familiarize you with this significant moment in history the class will look at the conditions of the church in the Middle Ages, the important participants in the Reformation and the outcome. The class will meet Sunday mornings at 10:00 a.m. in the Conference Room. For more information contact Pr. Kim - [email protected].

FELLOWSHIP/
PHYSICAL & SPIRITUAL WELLNESS
Heavenly Entrees Meal Program Update
The Physical and Spiritual Wellness Team volunteers have stocked the church freezer with a variety of home cooked and purchased entrees. The quality frozen meals are available for anyone to take to families or individuals recovering from hospitalization, illness, accident, or surgery, as well as those experiencing grief or other stressful times.
If you know someone who might benefit, please offer to take them one or more meals. You will be providing for the body, and lifting the spirit.
The labeled meals should be used within three months, and are replaced as they are used or expired. Simply use the sign-out sheet on the freezer door, and make someone's day a little brighter!
Please call Mary Hawkins (503-635-4194) with any questions.
Inspiration Moment from the Prayer and Meditation Ministry
"Mountain Top Experiences"
"...And Peter said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good that we are here. If you wish, I will make three tents here, one for you and one for Moses and one for Elijah."
(Matthew 17:4)
We've all had them - those special moments, events, sights and sounds that so touch our minds, hearts and spirits. We would like to linger there a bit - take it all in --- glory in its exhilarating feeling. But then it's time to move on - come down and back to the realities of life. Strengthened and nurtured, we carry on, perhaps even gaining a new and different perspective on life.
He (Peter) was still speaking when, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them, and a voice from the cloud said,
"This is my beloved Son,with whom I am well pleased; listen to him."
(Matthew 17:5-6)
Thank you, LORD, for 'God Moments' that enrich our lives.
Blessings,
Bernice Gustaff
