Jillion Potter, USA Eagle and Olympian, is facing a second bout against cancer. Potter, 30, was recently diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma for the second time in just over two years.
Empire GU recently completed a matching-gift program which was designed to help support Jillion in her fight and associated medical expenses. As expected, EGU member clubs, athletes and fans came together to support one of the top athletes and ambassadors USA Rugby has seen. The program raised $1,310 through individual donations and Empire GU matched that amount with an additional $1,310.
"I am so pleased that the EGU membership, supporters and fans of Jillion Potter are rallying around this courageous women, who is an inspiration to us all," said Ken Pape, EGU President. "We hope this donation will help offset some of those extreme costs incurred by having to battle this disease. We wish Jillion the best in her fight."
