by Jordan Harrison
Now a major motion picture starring Jon Hamm, Geena Davis, Lois Smith, and Tim Robbins,
Marjorie Prime by Jordan Harrison "has all the hallmarks of the best science fiction" and was a finalist for the 2015 Pulitzer Prize for Drama (New Yorker). With help from an intriguingly innovative technology in a future not far from our present, Marjorie is able to examine and even alter her past. Through deeply drawn characters, Harrison burrows into troubling questions of the digital age: What would we remember, and what would we forget, given the power of authorship? Will we be any less human, once computers know us better than we know ourselves?

by Anton Chekhov, adapted by Tracy Letts
TCG is excited to publish its fifth title by Tracy Letts -- a lively take on the Chekhovian classic Three Sisters.
From the Chicago Tribune:
"It's not so much that Letts is translating Chekhov rather than writing his own play. Letts's main achievement here is to make Chekhov more emotional, accessible and active: 'When you grab at happiness and just get little handfuls, and then lose it all anyway,' Letts's Masha observes, 'you get bitter. And you stop paying careful attention.' ...That's powerful stuff -- and a pretty succinct summary, a kind of Letts-Chekhov Unhappy Meal Combo, of bitterness, its derivation and its consequences."

by Naomi Wallace
Lauded for her topical, searing explorations of the pressing issues that provoke and challenge our humanity, Naomi Wallace's new play Night is a Room tackles the timeless topic of love and relationships, manipulating it an entirely new and shocking way.
This story of a seemingly ideal marriage between a loving and vibrant couple is torn apart when the husband's previously unknown birth mother surprises him for his fortieth birthday... though 'surprise' is a mild understatement given the twists and turns that are in store. Night is a Room examines the intimate challenge love can create, be it sexual, romantic, familial -- or all of the above.

by Stephen Adly Guirgis
The Motherfucker with the Hat is the second play by Stephen Adly Guirgis from TCG, following his 2015 Pulitzer Prize winner Between Riverside and Crazy. The play marked Guirgis' Broadway debut at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre in the spring of 2011, which received rave reviews.
In The Motherfucker with the Hat, Jackie, a recently paroled drug dealer, attempts a fragile balance between the addictions of love, the struggle to stay clean, and the revenge for the betrayals that punctuate and maybe even facilitate his recovery. As described by the New York Times, the play is "by far the most accomplished and affecting work from the gifted Mr. Guirgis, a prolific chronicler of marginal lives."

by David Lindsay-Abaire
The newest play from Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire centers around a high-stakes territorial battle between two determined senior women over the best room in their assisted living home.
In a satirical conflict of power and control, Lindsay-Abaire spins a benign, sometimes mundane setting into an absurdist, colorful battleground. Ripcord examines our expectations of what it means to grow old in 21st century America, and what happens when a sense of possession collides with a mania of obsession -- "admirable in its precision and symmetry; there's not a comic setup that isn't balanced by a logically consistent payoff" (New York Times).
