Course Selection Ends Friday

Students in grades 9 through 11 currently have access to the online course selection portal in MMS. This will remain open until
tomorrow, February 24. During this time, students should select their courses for next school year.
After completing the process online, students are instructed to print out the course selection sheet and have each of their teachers sign next to their desired subject courses. A parent signature is required as well. These forms are due tomorrow, February 24, 2017.

Ash Wednesday Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday,
March 1, at 10:20 AM
in the auditorium. Visitors are welcome to join us as we begin our Lenten journey with Christ.

"I-rish You Luck" raffle information was mailed to families this week. Don't forget to return your completed form requesting a ticket for I-rish You Luck Week at YC no later than March 8. You might take a chance by yourself or invite friends and family to join you in the purchase of a ticket (sharing the proceeds among yourselves). The leprechaun will pull the lucky tickets on March 17 at YC. PLUS! Students of families who submit a ticket order can wear their Irish spirit and dress down the week of March 13-17. "I-rish You Luck" Week supports our school and most immediately our students since proceeds benefit YC's operating budget (e.g., student academic and co-curricular activities). Students will have points added to the Gaelic Quest competition for their class for a bit more Irish luck!

| Musical - "Guys and Dolls" |
Take in the musical talents of York Catholic students at the spring musical, "Guys and Dolls." Show times are Friday, March 3, at 7 PM; Saturday, March 4, at 7 PM; and Sunday, March 5, at 2 PM. Email your ticket order to [email protected]. Pre-order tickets by March 1 to receive a discount: Adults $8, Students $6, & Senior Citizens $5. At the door, tickets are Adults $10, Students & Senior Citizens $8.

| Spring Sports Paperwork Due |
Spring sports teams begin practices on Monday, March 6, for senior high and Wednesday, March 8, for junior high. For exact practice times, contact the head coach or Mr. Bankos at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x214.
No Practice Until Paperwork is on File
Students wishing to participate in athletics must have the following paperwork on file:
- PIAA Physical Form
- Athlete & Parent Agreement (last page of physical form)
- ImPACT Test
Students wishing to play a spring sport MUST verify the paperwork is on file with the athletic director no later than Wednesday, March 1, at 3 PM; no exceptions.
Failure to submit the paperwork by the deadline will mean the student will not be permitted to practice the first day of the season. For some sports, this could mean the student will not make the team. Click here for the proper Physical & Agreement forms. York Catholic's Athletic Association will host "Night at the Races" on Saturday, March 25, in the YC cafeteria. Join us for fun, food, beverages, horse races, raffles, and silent auction. Doors open at 6 PM with dinner at 6:30 PM, and races beginning at 7 PM.
General admission donation is $25 per person. A reserved table for 8 is $500. Dress is casual. Tickets are going fast! To reserve tickets, contact Roxanne Castellanos at [email protected] or 717-846-8871 x211 or send your order request (name and quantity of tickets) and payment (check made to YC Athletic Association) to her attention at York Catholic. You will not receive a hard ticket but will be checked in the night of the event. All proceeds will benefit the Athletic Association.

During inclement weather that would cause a school closing or delay of schedule, York Catholic will call/text/email you through our One Call Now Emergency Notification system. Other modes of notification include WSBA 910-AM, WGAL TV-8, and the YC website. Students from individual school districts are automatically excused if their district closes and does not provide transportation to YCHS. The exceptions to this are Southern and Southeastern. These students follow York Catholic's delay and closing schedule.

Deanery News: Theology on Tap

Theology on Tap of York is a Young Adult Ministry and Evangelization outreach of the Diocese of Harrisburg. All young adults (20s & 30s), single, married, Catholic or not, are invited to attend a discussion of "Finding True Peace Thru Jesus Christ" with father Daniel Richards on Tuesday, February 28, at the First Post (2nd Floor), 3691 E Market St in York. Happy Half Hour starts at 7 PM with the speaker and Q & A beginning at 7:30 PM.
