Christi Sloan
Myrtle Beach, SC

Christi Sloan began painting in oils 6 years ago when both of her children went off to college and she had time to pursue her own interests.  Her friends were not surprised at her rapid development as a painter even though she had never attempted it before, because she was always expressing her inner artist in other creative endeavors.

Sloan was interested in learning the traditional techniques of oil painting and has studied with Elizabeth Bronson and Jef Sturm as well as workshops with Jim Calk, Mike Rooney and William Jameson.

Through her painting, Sloan hopes to evoke a positive emotion in the viewer.  She uses composition, color harmony and brush technique to share her experiences of the world around her whether landscape, portrait or still life.  Her desire is that in making art she would glorify God.

Sloan lives in Myrtle Beach, SC and is a member of the Seacoast Artist Guild.  She will participate in her first art show in McClellanville, SC in March.  She has sold numerous works and commissioned pieces and can be reached at SloanChristi@gmail.com.
