In 1997, the International Sign Association and the California Electric Sign Association, published results of a survey regarding various factors on sales at a California fast-food chain. In terms of signage, small, reflective directional signs increased weekly sales from 4.0% to 12.4%. Many large complexes and campuses could benefit from more effective directional signage and directory signs to increase sales and help people avoid uncomfortable situations.
