LENTEN STUDY AND SIMPLE SUPPER

Ash Wednesday is on March 1st. After that, we will begin our Wednesdays in Lent study. Every Wednesday from March 8th to April 5th we will meeting in Parish Hall starting at 6 pm for a simple supper, 6:30 is the Study, ends at 7 pm with Compline.

Divine Seeing: Praying with Our Eyes Open: Join us on a five week journey through Lent where our focus will be on Visio divina. It is a way of seeing that can meet us where we are and lead us to the sacred place within, where Christ dwells. This interactive study will feature works of art as we follow four movements: From resentment to gratitude, from sorrow to joy, from fear to love, and from exclusion to inclusion. Our study will culminate on the fifth week with a Passover Seder where we will see Christ through this ancient sacred meal.

Lenten materials are available in the Narthex.

About Mahler's Symphony No. 2 "Resurrection"
This symphony is big in every way- emotion, sound and instrumentation. Mahler composed the work to depict the beauty of afterlife and resurrection. A massive chorus - nearly 300 singers - is the centerpiece of the enormous finale, closing with Mahler's own text:
"Die shall I in order to live. Rise again, yes, rise again, will you, my heart, in an instant! That for which you suffered, to God will it lead you!"
The choir will be composed of a combination of six collegiate and professional choirs from across the entire state. There are also two stellar vocal soloists, Kristin Lewis and Christin-Marie Hill. Lewis and Hill have incredible internationally prominent careers, and Ms. Lewis has roots right here in Little Rock.
