In the Spotlight: Detecting Autism

 

We are highlighting a very interesting study recently published in the journal Nature.  In this study, researchers found that brain scans can be used to detect Autism in children long before any symptoms begin to manifest. This study could potentially lead to earlier testing and the introductions of therapies much sooner than currently being done. While still very early, this potential breakthrough is certainly something to keep your eye on as more research is conducted.  Please take a look at the report from the BBC, link below, which outlines the study in greater detail.

This course reviews cultural respect and cultural competence, detailing health disparities, health-related experience, complementary approaches, patient-centered care, trans-cultural communication, and skilled-centered approaches to care. 

       

Americans with Disabilities Act - Introduction, History, and Overview

4 Credit Hours - $32

This course presents the history of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), providing an in depth overview of the law, the people the law protects and the regulations and enforcement of those regulations.
