Exciting Advocacy Training Opportunities

Apply for the National Breast Cancer Coalition's 2017 Project LEAD® Institute
The National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) is now accepting applications for the July 2017 Project LEAD Institute. NBCC has been training breast cancer activists to influence research, advance public policy and drive the adoption of quality standards in health care for more than 20 years.  If you have a serious interest in scientific study and in preparing yourself for participation in the policy-setting and decision-making roles of breast cancer research advocacy, don't miss this opportunity. The course is challenging and focuses on the basic language and concepts of molecular biology, genetics, clinical trials, epidemiology, research methods and advocacy. 

Acceptance to the  Project LEAD ®  Institute is a competitive  application process and s pace is limited. The Institute will be held  July 9-14, 2017  in La Jolla, CA. The application deadline is  April 18, 2017 at 5 PM EST . Tuition is free and includes all Institute materials and meals. Applicants must be a member of NBCC. Join the National Breast Cancer Coalition at the 2017 Advocate Leadership Summit
The National Breast Cancer Coalition's 2017 Advocate Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C. will be held from  May 20-23, 2017 . The Summit is filled with the speakers, topics, skill building, message training and strategic planning to that energize breast cancer advocates for the important work in the year ahead.  For more information and to register:  2017 NBCC Leadership Summit

On   Tuesday, May 23 , NBCC will host a Lobby Day on Capitol Hill. VBCF will offer transportation to Washington DC for Virginia advocates and organize meetings with Virginia's Congressional delegation. More information forthcoming.
