February Adoption Promotion

It has been success under the stars for several of our CCS cats this month! Felines under every sign of the Zodiac have been adopted in February and have found their forever homes.  If you have been thinking that it's time to bring a furry friend into your family, there is no better time than now.  We are offering reduced adoption fees of $65 on all cats one year and older during the month of February.   Please stop by the shelter and find a special cat to share your home and your life!

Please visit our  Facebook page for more information.

Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.

Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides

$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Opt To Adopt Helena
Helena is ready for her forever home! Helena needs an experienced adopter who understands cats with independent personalities. She came to CCS in 2015 as a feral kitten. Since she arrived at the shelter, Helena has made great strides socializing with people and cats.  Helena is quite independent and may never be a lap cat, but she has become very social and friendly with visitors.  She is still somewhat hesitant about being carried, but will let someone she trusts pick her up and hold her.  Helena will rub up against visitors, and head bump people she is familiar with, asking to be petted.

Helena and best friend-Edgar
Helena has made a best feline friend at the shelter, Edgar, with whom she would love to be adopted.  The two of them are almost like twins in appearance, and have a great time time hanging out together and chasing each other up and down the hallway.  Helena loves playing with toys, especially string toys and laser pointers.  She's also into catnip, and catnip stuffed toys.  Helena (and her pal, Edgar) could easily form a strong bond with the right human.  Please stop by the shelter to meet them both!

The Colfax Marathon
May 20-21, 2017
The Colfax Marathon is May 20-21, 2017
and this year you can support Cat Care Society!

We are looking for a minimum of 20 runners to register for this year's Colfax Marathon and select Cat Care Society as their supporting charity. If we can meet this goal, we will have a booth in the charity partner village.

Don't run? That's ok! If we can get at least 40 people to walk we can still reach the goal and get a booth in the charity partner village
(2 walkers = 1 runner).

The best part of participating in the Colfax Marathon, Cat Care Society will receive 92% of the registration fee for every person who registers and selects Cat Care Society as their charity. You also have the option to add the 8% fee back before you complete your registration, which will result in Cat Care Society receiving 100% of the registration fee!

Call your friends and get a group together and register for the 2017 Colfax Marathon and support Cat Care Society on your registration!
Please don't forget to select Cat Care Society as your charity!

All proceeds from the Colfax Marathon will benefit the shelter cats with food, litter and medical care.

Golden Hearts Club

CCS houses between 75 to 100 cats and kittens at our shelter year round. Becoming a Golden Heart Club sponsor will provide financial support for key areas of the shelter.

Here are some of the ways your contribution can help:

Sponsoring the Shelter Golden Heart for $2,500 will help us provide approximately 4 months of litter to the shelter cats. Annually, we use 19,200 pounds (480 bags) of cat litter each year at a cost of $7,200.

Sponsoring the Kitten Room Golden Heart for $1,500 will help us provide 28 spay surgeries, 25 neuter surgeries, 60 rabies vaccines, and 35 FVRCP vaccines to the shelter kittens. Annually, we spend approximately $33,000 on medical procedures and general medical care for the shelter cats and kittens.

Sponsoring one of the Golden Heart rooms for $100 will help a number of cats.  $100 will buy 7 bags of cat litter which will provide litter to the a typical room for approximately 1 week.

We offer multiple sponsorship levels ranging from $100 up to $2,500.

Nine Lives Legacy Society
Just what is the Nine Lives Legacy Society?  It is a program that was established several years ago to give people the opportunity to plan for their cats' well-being through all of their years, and to also help us care for the cats at Cat Care Society. To join the society, you agree to name Cat Care Society as a beneficiary in your will, trust, pension plan, life insurance policy, or other  financial instrument.

With membership in this society, you will be able to enroll your cat in our Nine Lives Guardianship Program. Through this program you will ensure that your feline family members will be cared for even if you are no longer able to care for them yourself.  Besides guaranteeing the well-being of your pets, there are other society membership benefits as well.  Please visit our website to learn more about the Nine Lives Legacy Society program.

Temporary Care Program
Cat Care Society is unique in that we offer a temporary care program for people who are unable to care for their cats, due to a home foreclosure, temporary homelessness, or an extended hospital stay. We can provide a safe haven for your feline friend for up to 30 days for people who are struggling due to one of these situations. We will provide food, shelter, and medical care for cat(s) in the Temporary Care Program.

Note that CCS has limited spots for temporary care cats, and participation in the program is subject to space and availability.
Please contact our shelter for more information: 303.239.9680.
