MTC Releases Winter 2017 Regional "Vital Signs" Update--Housing Supply Still Lags
As part of the regional planning activities associated with Plan Bay Area, MTC tracks certain Bay Area economic, social, and environmental metrics.  MTC recently published an update of these  "Vital Signs" metrics that will be considered at a meeting of MTC's Planning Committee on Friday, February 10.  Full Story
BIA Bay Area South Bay RPC Meetings
RPC meetings with Councilmember Sergio Jimenez on February 8th, Vice Mayor Magdalena Carrasco on February 22nd  and Councilmember Sylvia Arenas on March 15th.  BIA builders will have the opportunity to discuss with the policy maker the challenges confronting residential builders in the City of San Jose to produce housing.  Plan to attend and be part of the discussion!  RSVP to: psausedo@biabayarea.org   
Santa Clara Affordable Housing Fees
The City of Santa Clara is processing an increase in affordable housing impact fees applicable to rental apartments, a jobs housing linkage fee applicable to non-residential development and other updates to the city's affordable housing policies. The City Council will hear a presentation of nexus study findings at its February 21st  meeting. Full Story

"Building Hope" at Recovery Café  - Feb. 15
HomeAid and the BIA Bay Area are hosting "Building Hope" at Recovery Café San Jose on February 15, 2017 and we need your support!  Mayor Sam Liccardo and Supervisor David Cortese will be there to support the efforts of Recovery Café in providing hope and support for the homeless.  Thank you to Irvine Company for taking on the role of Builder Captain for the remodeling of the Recovery Café commercial pantry!  Please contact Cheryl O'Connor if you would like to sponsor or attend this event in San Jose.
