Metro Health and University of Michigan Health System announce new affiliation

World-class health care is combining with the culture of a community hospital to revolutionize West Michigan health care through the new Metro Health: University of Michigan Health.

Earlier this month, leaders from both Metro Health Hospital and the University of Michigan Health System shared details of their new affiliation and how it will benefit patients, employees, physicians and the West Michigan community with a Launch Celebration.

Metro Health and the University of Michigan agree with similar cultures, and unwavering focus on patient care, and access to high-quality care made it a natural fit to work together.

"Seventy-five years ago when 23 doctors formed Grand Rapids Osteopathic Hospital, caring for patients and the community was the number-one concern," Metro Health: University of Michigan Health CEO Michael Faas shared.  "Even though we've grown and changed names, taking care of patients is still our top priority."
