From Brunch to the Veterans
Last week was a wonderful week at Saint Paul's Church. Several volunteers spent a week participating in hospitality, fellowship, and touching the lives of hundreds of people.
The week began on Sunday with the Annual Meeting and Brunch. Monday and Tuesday some of the same volunteers prepared for over 200 people attending Tuesday Music Live. Wednesday was the day for our Outreach ministry of mentoring at Craig-Houghton School. Thursday a few of the same people attended a very nice Book Club meeting in Tyler Hall. Thursday was also the day to get 168 loaves of bread for Manna Pantry. Friday many youth and devoted volunteers obtained a U-Haul truck, drove to Golden Harvest to get 5000 lbs of goods for Manna Pantry, unloaded the truck, and made boxes to give to the needy. Saturday morning saw some of the same volunteers helping at Manna Pantry. The week ended with volunteers who had given their time and talent all week visiting with Veterans and serving them ice cream and cookies.
What a fabulous week and a great big thank you to all who participated!
Sincerely,
Anita Tanner

Come be a "Monarch of Merriment"
Saturday, February 25, 6:30 PM
The River Room
The Craig-Houghton track team is gearing up for the 2017 season! Proceeds from Mardi Gras 2016 enabled us to purchase track uniforms for our Craig-Houghton athletes. Our Outreach funds also provide school supplies, clothing, and contribute to the "Backpack Snack"ministry. (baggies of food items go home in a child's backpack weekly). Our tutors diligently provide greatly needed academic help and a loving heart to 20 students every week. We read everyday to the Pre-Kindergarten classes to help meet their 1000 book goal. The Angel Tree program and Christmas breakfast is a great annual event. We share a very special relationship with our friends and neighbors at Craig-Houghton.
Plan to attend Mardi Gras 2017 and you can make a difference. Mardi Gras proceeds go directly into helping our downtown neighbors.
Tickets ($50) available Sunday after the 11 AM service, in the parish office and online.

SILENT AUCTION
Many thanks to everyone for your fabulous response with donations for our live and silent auctions for MARDI GRAS. Here's what we still could use: experiences. What exactly does that mean? Experiences like football games, art classes, coffee tastings, trips, just to give some examples. Of course we aren't limited to those items... use your imagination! If you think it is fun, someone else likely will too! The last day to receive donations is February 12. Donations can be brought to the church office. Please
email Sallie West
with donations or questions or call her at (804) 928-1562.
