How about a hug on Saturday afternoon between 2-5pm!?

PUCCers keep asking what they can do to put their faith into action and embrace a more loving and hospitable, inclusive and vulnerable presence in the world...here is a great opportunity! You won't be disappointed! Trust us!

Gitana Productions and other participating organizations (including Parkway UCC!) will offer hugs and treats at various locations along Grand Blvd. in South St. Louis City to promote cross-cultural connection, in an effort to bridge the societal and cultural gaps that grew during the recent presidential campaign and election.

Catch up with us at various locations along South Grand Blvd:
* Jay International Foods - 3172 S. Grand
* Aldi on Grand Blvd. - 3721 S. Grand
* Rooster South Grand* - 3150 S. Grand
* Carpenter Branch Library - 3309 S. Grand

Worship with Us this Weekend!
Join us this Sunday for our 9:30am Traditional Worship Service and/or Informal Worship Service at 11:00am.
Our scripture passages are  Psalm 112:1-9 and Matthew 5:13-16 with a sermon entitled Spices, Lights and Lamps .

What do we have and who are we when we are people of faith? These images (spices, lights and lamps) can guide, encourage and inspire us to be
more intentional about the ways we live out faith and draw other people to it. We will celebrate the sacrament of communion at our open table. All are welcome!

It's Give-a-Meal Sunday. This month's focus is on spices and seasonings. Read about it here: Spice Up Your Life

Souper Bowl of Caring!
Sunday, February 5 | Both Services | Gathering Area
Our youth will be in the Gathering area asking for your coins to fill our soup pots. Souper Bowl of Caring was originally founded by a church youth group. Even though the movement has since expanded from the faith community to many types of participating groups, we continue to be fueled by those coming together to worship and make a difference in their community. Souper Bowl of Caring is dedicated to tackling all of the issues that exist in your community, including poverty, hunger and homelessness.
Did you know?
  • 48 million Americans live in poverty?
  • 1 in 7 Americans face hunger every day?
  • More than 630,000 people in the United States are homeless?
  • 23% of those struggling went to college?
  • Or that 16 million children live in food insecure households?

Inclement Weather Policy
If we need to cancel church on a Sunday morning due to wintry weather, we will communicate with you in a variety of ways:
  • Church wide email.
  • Facebook/Twitter post.
  • KSDK.com listing.
  • Voicemail at church.
Judgment whether to come to church rests with the individual. If you feel it is unsafe to drive, please don't risk it. Stay safe. Stay home.

Adult Education

February 5: ABCs- Come Write Letters
Letter writing is not a lost art-even if fewer people engage in the practice these days. Come ready to listen and write! We'd love for you to bring a treasured letter or two to share with the group. We'll hear a couple of letters that have been written to the church-from real people here at PUCC and from the early church in the New Testament. We'll also invite you to write  a letter to encourage PUCC youth, to bless someone who is struggling and to raise your faith voice in the community-writing materials and pens are provided-no need to bring anything with you!
This Adult Education session is self-guided. There is such wisdom, compassion and faith among our people. Come experience it!

It feels like the right time to share one of my all-time favorite brief videos ... to align with one of Jesus' dreams - να πάντες ν σιν , ina pantes hen ōsin is a phrase derived from a verse in John 17:1  which says: "that they may all be one."
