Countryside Against Hunger - What an Event - WOW!!

Celebration of Cultures, February 28th
The 2017 Countryside Celebration of Cultures is Coming up on Tuesday, February 28th, 4:30-7:00

The Celebration of Cultures is a unique, fun, free school party that celebrates the countries and cultures from around the world represented by our Countryside families. Participation is easy. Your  student(s) should have brought home a sign up form that should be completed and returned to school. A PDF version is in the purple box below. Then they can create a presentation featuring a country or state they've visited, are interested in or their ancestors are from. Have fun!  Make it colorful and interesting!

Questions?  Please contact Ingrid Yelkin at  ingrid.yelkin@parknicollet.com  or Sarina Khariwala at  [email protected] .

Yearbook Orders!
It's That Time of Year Again!

Look for the LifeTouch flyers coming home in school backpacks for instructions on how to order yearbooks online.  Soft-sided yearbook pricing begins at $15.00 with additional options available as add-ons.  Order deadline is March 1st.  This is a great way to commemorate the year and a treasured space for kids to write memories to each other!   Online ordering is the only way to order yearbooks; no checks or cash can be accepted.
Questions?  email Sara Friswold at [email protected] or Megan Ulland at [email protected]
The Spring Scholastic Book Fair is Coming!
Ready for S'More reading?

In conjunction with the Countryside Science Fair, the Spring Scholastic Book Fair will be Tuesday March 21st from 4-8pm.  More details will be coming shortly, but we plan to have food trucks at school again this year to offer dinner for purchase.  This is a great chance to get a jump start on summer reading lists, teacher thank you gifts and much more!  We will also be collecting donations for All For Books again which supports literacy at our school and gives books to each of the Countryside Students on their birthday as well as supports those families in need in our community.  Scholastic then matches our donation amounts with a donation to literacy programs across the country.
Save the Date for the Science Fair!
Tuesdsay, March 21st
5:30-7:30pm
Plans are underway for our annual Science Fair, set for March 21st.  For now, start thinking about potential projects/presentations.  Pick up a packet outside the Countryside office and check out the details.  Stay tuned and mark your calendars!
A Message From the Countryside Health Office
When Should My Child
 Stay Home From School?

In general, the following information is intended to help decide when a student should stay home:

- If a student has had a fever of 100 degrees or more, the student should stay home for 24 hours after the temperature returns to normal without fever reducing medication such as ibuprofen or acetaminophen.
- If a student has vomited or had diarrhea, the student should stay home until 24 hours after the last episode.
- If a student has had any rash that may be disease-related or the cause is unknown, check with your health care provider before sending the student to school.
- If a student is ill, please call the school daily to report the illness.
