The Nave

A Day of Celebration:
In celebration of "The Presentation of Our Lord"

"When Mary placed her small son into the arms of Simeon, it was the meeting of the Old and New Dispensations.  The old sacrifices, the burnt offerings and oblations, were done away; a new and perfect offering had come into the temple.  God had provided himself a lamb for the burnt-offering, his only Son (Genesis 22:8).  And the offering was to be made once for all on the cross.  At every Eucharist those who are in Christ recall that sinless offering and unite "themselves, their souls and bodies" with the self-oblation of their Lord and Savior."

Today we remember this sacrifice of praise and we come together to remember the child that is for us, the light to lighten the world.  That we might have the opportunity for new vision, new opportunity and new spirit, to approach the world with all the love intended.

The Presentation of Jesus at the Temple
Sunday, February 5th, 2017 @ 10:00 a.m.

Come and celebrate the Holy Baptism of Skyler Seuschek who is just a mere few weeks old.  This service of Holy Eucharist and Baptism will take place at Christ Episcopal Church on Sunday, February the 5th at the 10:00 a.m. service.  All are encouraged to attend as we affirm our faith together.

Rectory Under Construction

As many of you know the Parish Rectory is currently under construction.  We have been hard at working suring up the foundation and dealing with the many issues that come up during a construction project such as this.  However, what has turned into quite a major project has proved very approachable with the support of both Sandy Pringle and Kathy Van Orden.  To whom we are VERY thankful!

A very special thank you to the vestry for their continued effort to prioritize improvements throughout the campus.

Parking is sparse on February the 5th

Believe it or not this is not an advertisement for your participation in the Redondo Beach 10K race.  Instead this is a reminder that traffic will be challenging Sunday, February the 5th.  So please allow yourself ample time to park prior to service as we will be competing for spaces as result of the road race.

Income For the Week of 1/29/2017
Plate and Pledge Offering

Explanation:  Typically Christ Church receives two types of weekly offering.  These donations can be categorized as either "Pledge Offerings" or "Open Plate Offerings".

Pledge Offerings, typically come in a specified envelope with a specific parishioners name or number (which corresponds to the parishioners name).  These monies are given to fulfill a commitment previously made by the parishioner, through their annual pledge.

Open Plate Offerings, typically are monies given, by visitors to the Church or those who have not committed to an annual pledge.

All offerings are made during the 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. service each week.

Total Pledge Offering 1/29/2017:                          $2,220.00
Total Open Plate Offering 1/29/2017:                   $86.00

We will reflect a 2016 budget to date vs. the actual income at a later time.
Thank you for your patience!
