Let's Play Love Your Neighbor

PRCA is encouraging you to meet your neighbors and share a little kindness during the month of February. A few houses in each neighborhood will be chosen to receive a little goody on their front door step, in hope each house will pass along something special to someone else. Thank you to all who volunteered to help us get started in sharing the love this season.

Ladies Bunco Night - Feb. 4

Munch & Movie - Feb. 8 (a.m.)

Movie-lovers unite! Join us on the second Wednesday of the month for an adventure with new friends. Movie time will be schedule for day on even months and night on odd months. Edible Valentine Candy Bouquet  - Feb. 9

Sign up to make a delicious edible Valentine candy bouquet, and then take it to go. This is a quick craft that whips up in 30 minutes. Cholewka Law is hosting our first Sports Trivia Happy Hour on the Carriage House Patio. We will be serving dinner from the food truck and playing triva while we chow down. Prizes of course! Suns vs. Chicago Bulls - Feb. 10

Phoenix Suns vs. Chicago Bulls basketball game is Friday, Feb. 10 at 8:30 p.m. at Talking Stick Resort. Purchase discounted tickets online and get a ride to the event on the FOX Sports Bus. Pajama Movie Night - Feb. 18

Dress in your pajamas and bring a blanket! We will be hanging out in the media room, enjoying popcorn, and watching the movie BFG (rated G), based on the book by Roald Dahl. Play In A Drum Circle - Feb. 18

Drumming reduces stress, boosts the immune system, enhances relaxation, creates a sense of community, AND is just plain fun! Anyone can do it, you don't need to know how. A selection of Remo African hand drums and percussions are provided, or you can bring your own drum. Ages 12+. Come give it a try. Ranch House 7 to 8:30 p.m. Donations appreciated ($10 suggested). Pizza and Paint - Feb. 18

Paint your own masterpiece with assistance of Brushworks Studio. All the materials are included - including the pizza and drink! You will be an artist in no time. Ages 6+. Morning Meet Up - Feb. 21

Stop by the Carriage House after you drop your kids off to school or when you head out for your morning walk. Everyone is welcome at our Morning Meet Up. 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Have a cup of coffee, tea, juice or snack and chat a while. Just drop in.

Spring Training Fan Fest - Feb. 27 

All Power Ranch residents and owners are invited to attend the FREE Spring Training Fan Fest at the Power Ranch Annual Meeting. Experience America's favorite past-time by rooting for the home team, testing your baseball skills, and enjoying ball park concessions. Plan to stick around for the annual meeting happening immediately after at 6:30 p.m. Two board members are being announced, community and financial reports will be shared, and prizes awarded! If you would like a copy of the Power Ranch Babysitter List emailed to you or you are a babysitting teen and would like your contact information added to the list, contact rbenavidez@ccmcnet.com. Many of the babysitters on the list completed the babysitting certification and first aid training. 

Homeschool Social Fridays 

If you are homeschooling join the other families in the community at the Ranch House Park each Friday at 9:30 a.m. If the weather is bad we will move to the clubhouse at 10 a.m. (remember your pool key to get in). The first Friday of the month features a STEM project taught by Faith (faith.guimarin@gmail.com). Spa For Your Soul - Ongoing
 
Tania Gerard is offering Stress Management classes.   Classes will be held on Mondays at 6:30pm at the Ranch House Flex Space.  Show your (dear, sweet) self some love and come to enjoy a moment to relax. While you learn techniques to manage stress and connect your body and mind. Get emotionally fit by practicing positive ways to tackle everyday challenges. Limited space. Play Wednesdays at 1 p.m. in the east soccer field. The Bocce balls are provided and it's easy to learn. Everyone welcome to join the fun. Plan to stay after for happy hour on the Carriage House patio. Drop in and give it a try!
Drop In Pickleball - Ongoing

Bring a partner or stop in to find one for drop-in, doubles Pickleball. Informal meet ups scheduled every Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the Arbors tennis complex. Join in the fun. The game is easy to play and quick to learn. Bring your supplies and let's play!
Horseshoe Pits - Ongoing

There is a horseshoe pit near the intersection of Chisum Lane and S. Luiseno Blvd in the Villages neighborhood. It is located in the green area between Trigger Way and Chisum, closer to Luiseno. Bring your shoes and start playing. Completely informal and a fun way to meet your neighbors.
Drop In Volleyball - Ongoing

Let's bump, set and spike! Drop-in volleyball is every Tuesday, beginning at 6:30 p.m. Stop by the Ranch House volleyball court and find other volleyball-lovers willing to start up a game. This court does have a misting system. Check in the office for more information about how to turn it on and off.
Power Ranch Cycling Group - Ongoing

Interested in joining a Power Ranch cycling club that takes off from the Barn or the Ranch House on Saturday mornings? Looking for beginning/intermediate cyclists interested in riding 25 to 30 miles at about a 15 MPH pace. If you aren't quite up to those numbers we can start at the comfort level of the group. Tennis Courts - Ongoing

Two, lighted tennis courts in the Arbors neighborhood are available to all residents. One of the courts can now accommodate Pickleball. The brass key will get you in, and you need to keep it with you to get out. No restroom facilities available. Schedule posted on court if an event is planned.
Fishing
Catch and Release Fishing - Ongoing

The lakes at the Barn and Ranch House are available to all residents for catch and release fishing. Hooks must be barbless and fish must be returned to the lake. Dispose of fishing line properly to protect wildlife. Watercraft prohibited. Required permits available in the Carriage House during office hours. Fish include: Grass Carp, White Amur, Catfish, Tilapia, and Koi.
Cards and Games Club - Ongoing

Join the Power Players in the Carriage House and play cards, dominoes, and now bridge! Drop in Tuesday, 1 to 4 p.m. or Thursday 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Games vary. We are happy to teach you to play something new. No commitment required. Bring a friend or come and meet someone new. Bring your pool card to get in the door.
SilverSneakers - Daily at 9:30 a.m.

Try cardio, circuit/interval training, dance, yoga, stretch, and Pilates. Taught by licensed FLEX instructor Kristina Sherman. SilverSneakers members pay nothing. Non-SilverSneakers members join for a small fee. Classes every day in the Ranch House Fitness Room at 9:30 a.m.  Just show up, for first class is FREE!  
Bushido Hawaii Kenpo Karate - Ongoing 

Blind Dragon martial arts is offered for Power Ranch residents by a Power Ranch resident. Classes for kids and adults held at the Barn on Monday and Thursday nights. For more information contact  Tom Hicks.
Yoga in the Barn - Tuesday Nights 

All levels! Yoga uses breath control, simple meditation, and the adoption of specific bodily postures. It is a widely practiced for health and relaxation. Don't travel any farther than the Barn. Ranch House and Barn Swimming Pools 

The Ranch House pool is heated year-round to 82 degrees using solar power from the adjacent ramadas. The Barn pool is not heated and has flower and bucket aerators to help keep the water temperature cool in the summer. Pool hours are M-F 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends and holidays. No lifeguard. Under 14 must be supervised by an adult older than 18 years old. Children not potty trained must wear a swim diaper. Pools can close for 24 to 48 hours without notice. No swimming in lightning.
Power Ranch Community Library 

Visit the abundant Power Ranch Community Library in the Carriage House, 4546 E. Haven Crest Drive. Open during office hours, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The library features popular fiction, non-fiction, and children's books of all genres. There is something for everyone. Donations accepted. FREE. Volunteers are needed to help with the library.
Shredding Service

Free, do-it-yourself, paper shredding in the Carriage House, Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The secured drop box has a letter-sized slot to feed documents. It can not be opened by staff. Perfect for confidential, personal, and private information. Paper documents only, no manila files, heavy cardboard, metal paper clips or staples.
SRP Energy Analyzer - Kill A Watt

Borrow a Kill A Watt meter from the Power Ranch Community Library to find out how much energy your household appliances and electronics use. Learn which appliances are energy vampires even when you have them turned off. Once you know how much energy your appliances are using, you can take action to reduce your energy usage and lower your monthly energy bills. Ranch House Clubhouse

TheRanch House Clubhouse is a wonderfully inviting, industrial chic space for everyone in the Power Ranch community to use. Whether you use the Wifi and enjoy a cup of coffee in the display kitchen, play a movie or video games in the high tech media room, join a class in the fitness studio, start a foosball or ping pong tournament, hang out by the cozy fireplace with a good book, or schedule a meeting in the flexible space - there is some place for everyone.
