Oppose LB 337: With nearly $1 billion budget gap, income tax cuts are irresponsible policy.

The revenue committee will hold a hearing on LB 337, February 8, 2017, at 1:30 pm in the State Capitol, Room 1524.

Lawmakers will spend much of this legislative session trying to close a nearly $1 billion budget shortfall. Since every dollar counts, adopting an income tax cut - which when fully implemented would reduce revenues more than $210 million - would be devastating to schools, health care and other vital services and programs of value to Nebraskans.

This type of policy has been tried in Kansas, North Carolina and Oklahoma with disastrous results. Amid the budget crisis, test scores dropped in Kansas and one-third of school districts in Oklahoma have a four-day school week. Our state can't afford to follow the same path. If you value, the "Good Life" - let's protect it.

ACTION:
We urge everyone to call or email their senator and members of the revenue committee to oppose LB 337.
