Happy New Year!!

With the beginning of 2017 comes some new and exciting numbers of the people that were served by Contact Ministries in 2016. All of the services offered are free to those in need. Your generosity allows us to continue these programs and services. Each and every one of you play a vital role in the success of Contact Ministries.
  • 150 People helped with medical prescriptions
  • 1,098 people were helped with travel assistance
  • 3,021 families received food assistance through vouchers/bags of food
  • 1,854 families received clothing assistance
  • 7 families were provided with rental assistance
  • 8 families received assistance with their utilities
  • 50 families received Thanksgiving baskets
  • 36 families were adopted for Christmas through our Adopt-A-Family program
  • 373 families were helped through the Christmas Give-Away
  • There were 673 families for their first time seeking assistance
  • 191 families were housed in our homeless shelters
  • 32,571 meals were served in our shelters

Volunteer of the Month                               
Velma McLaurin
Velma volunteers in the Basement Boutique every week. She works mostly as a "checker" but is willing to help in any capacity needed. Velma began volunteering for us after she saw the goals and services offered by Contact Ministries. Velma says she enjoys seeing the appreciation in the clients that are being helped and getting to meet the residents that work along side her in the boutique.

Partnering with Share the Spirit
Thank you to Share the Spirit Foundation for supporting our Christmas Give-Away! Every year we look forward to partnering with them to bring shoes or boots to children. Tonya Vopel, along with her volunteers, purchased new boots or shoes for over 250 children which were distributed during our give-away. 
 



Tutoring...


Every Tuesday evening Contact Ministries' Board Room comes alive with children eager to learn. This is made possible by the tireless efforts of men, women and teenagers that give of themselves to help further the education of our shelter kids. Thank you all so much for your time and dedication to this mission!!
