pen/man/ship, in pictures

Our production of pen/man/ship, a play written by Christina Anderson and directed by Lucie Tiberghien, opened last night. Billed as a timeless father-and-son journey set in 1896 in the middle of the Atlantic with secrets and revelations that change everything, pen/man/ship runs through March 5. It stars Adrian Roberts as Charles Boyd, Vin Shambry as Cecil, Andrea Vernae as Ruby Heard and DeLance Minefee as Jacob Boyd.
But what's it really about? Rather than tell you - there is an element of mystery crucial to the plot, after all - we'd rather show you. Below, all photos courtesy of Brud Giles, is pen/man/ship.

Amazing photos, but the actors, the direction, the set and the script are even better. In other words, don't delay...

And then on March 12, it's Rise & Shine, a celebration brunch benefiting the Portland Playhouse community from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. We'll have strong coffee, hearty food, morning cocktails and hopefully share many memories as we honor our historic church one last time before its renovation. It's going to be the biggest party we've ever thrown, so you HAVE to be there. For tickets ($100), tables of 8 ($1,000) and more information, click here.
