A Message from the LCNAA President . . .
2016 has been a most eventful year for the LCNAA.  We started the year with a full plate and I am pleased with what we have accomplished to date.

Constitution and By-Laws : The Executive Board is days away from approving a new Constitution and By-Laws.   Once approved, copies of the proposed Constitution and By-Laws will be distributed to all financial members with a ballot in January. The results of the vote will be announced at the Spring meeting scheduled to be held in Washington DC on April 6-8,2017. If you have not yet paid your registration or reserved your hotel room, you need to do so as soon as possible (see Spring conference information below). This promises to be an annual meeting you don't want to miss.

Homecoming 2016:  For the second year in a row, Alumni praised nearly every aspect of the Homecoming activities. It will be a real challenge for us to exceed our efforts for Homecoming 2017 but I believe the Homecoming committee will rise to the challenge.

Alumni Scholarships: The Board adopted a new set of criterion for the LCNAA Scholarship. Based on funds raised at Homecoming 2015, we will award more than $20,000 in LCNAA Scholarships next spring, more than we have awarded in the past 3 years combined.

As 2016 quickly draws to a close, I want to thank all of you who gave of your time in the service of Livingstone College. Some of you recruited students or raised money for student scholarships. Others served as local or national chapter officers and/or committee chairpersons and Executive Board Members. I thank you all for your leadership, your energy and dedication. Of no less importance are the many Alumni who supported the leadership helping to make fundraising efforts successful. In addition to these efforts, many of you made direct donations to the College earmarked for the Capital Campaign, the general fund or whatever specific causes you chose to support.

If you are not an active member of a local chapter or the national, don't wait for January 1, 2017 to make a resolution to participate.  There's no better time to get started than today. The LCNAA needs you!

On behalf of the Executive Board of the LCNAA, I wish you a Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Delores M. Johnson

The McNair Blue Bears Return to Homecoming . . .
Siblings return to homecoming for the Love of Livingstone College

The McNair children matriculated under the Maples & Oaks at Livingstone College from 1965-1972. They're from Plymouth, N.C. and are the children of Mr. Lawrence McNair and the late Mrs. Thenorma McNair.

Mrs. Georgia M. Thompson' 69 (wife of the late Bishop Richard K. Thompson' 64), Jonathan McNair' 70, Oliver McNair' 71 (Christine Johnson McNair' 71), and Jacquard (Jackie) McNair Coleman '72 were inseparable during Homecoming weekend, October 14-16, 2016.

They attended a reception in the Poets & Dreamers Garden, class reunion activities, Convocation, luncheons, alumni meetings, the game, gala, and other events.

This was the first time in forty-four (44) years that all of them were in attendance.

Go McNair Blue Bears!
