Dear Friends,
Mother bears instinctively protect their young with fierce passion and power. Have we lost our animal instinct to protect not only our children but all children on planet earth? It is time we as women, mothers and grandmothers gather in spiritual community with men and let our own instincts for survival guide us as we get active, political, reach out and support one another, ask for help, join one another's organizations, volunteer, party together, dance, break bread, get to know our neighbors, study the wisdom spiritual traditions, share deeply of ourselves, tell inspiring stories, share dreams, PRAY and ignite our own animal instinct to protect the human and non-human young! IT IS NOT TIME TO SIT AT HOME AND ISOLATE. Please join us as we study the
empowering history of non-violent revolutions and revolutionaries during weekly Sunday worship at 5 pm for the next few months in order to activate YOUR MOTHER BEAR INSTINCT!
We are studying the teachings of Jesus, as well as inspiring modern women who have worked for justice and change as well as those who have won the Nobel Peace P
riz
e,
including Jody Williams an American woman from Vermont, who worked to
ban landmines
and won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997. We are in a national and global crisis, but this is not the first time. Marianne Williamson, a passionate Mother Bear and spiritual leader,

recently put on a two day conference, Sister Giant, interconnecting politics with spirituality with political leaders like Bernie Sanders and religious leaders like Rev. William Barber of Moral Mondays. Marianne Williamson, who teaches The Course in Miracles reminds us that we have much to be proud of as Americans, as well as shame and horror that we have let our democracy fall into the hands of a few billionaires. Let us also remember we not only have slavery in our history, we have the anti slavery movement. We not only had laws to stop women from voting, we are a country that gave women the right to vote almost 100 years ago.
Every crisis is an invitation for spiritual growth. It is time for us to gather in spiritual community to pray, go inward to be awakened by God, organize and learn ways to be loving together as we get more active to resist and protest what is happening to our democracy and nation as well as to our home Mother earth. We need to learn spiritual principles to guide us in the peaceful revolution. Our animal instinct needs to to be activated so we can participate in nonviolence, civil disobedience or the THIRD WAY, never responding to violence or aggression with more violence and aggression and never lying down like a door mat and becoming the victim. Jesus was the inspiration for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights movement and Gandhi studied the teachings of Jesus also.
The questions is how will women at this historic time become engaged and passionate like mother bears?
Gospel of Thomas 22. "Jesus saw some babies nursing. He said to his disciples, "These nursing babies are like those who enter the (Father's) kingdom."
They said to him, "Then shall we enter the (Father's) kingdom as babies?"
Jesus said to them, "When you make the two into one, and when you make the inner like the outer and the outer like the inner, and the upper like the lower, and when you make male and female into a single one, so that the male will not be male nor the female be female, when you make eyes in place of an eye, a hand in place of a hand, a foot in place of a foot, an image in place of an image, then you will enter [the kingdom]."
Translated by Stephen Patterson and Marvin Meyer
Women have been preeminent in the history of nonviolence and it is time to learn our history and step into moral leadership! We look forward to also watching documentaries of peace activists and will have movies on some Sundays as well as theater improvisation using Augusto Boal's Theater of the Oppressed, to act out personal and collective conflicts and discover THIRD WAY solutions.
We joined
Greenfaith.org
when they called for a multi-faith prayer vigil for the first 100 hours of the new administration to begin prayerfully as well as mark the beginning of 100 days, as we prepare for April 29
th
and the Peoples Climate Movement demonstrations locally and in Washington D.C. We hope that in the next 100 days our new home Church for Our Common Home, will begin more concrete engagement as we care for 'Our Common Home' and our nation with other people, creatures, groups, faith communities and environmental organizations and we invite you to join us!

"Dancing insists we take up space, and though it has no set direction, we go there together. Dance is dangerous, joyous, sexual, holy, disruptive, and contagious and it breaks the rules. It can happen anywhere, at anytime, with anyone and everyone, and it's free. Dance joins us and pushes us to go further and that is why it's at the center of ONE BILLION RISING"
- Eve Ensler
1 in 3 women across the planet will be beaten or raped during her lifetime. That's ONE BILLION WOMEN AND GIRLS. Every
February, we rise - in hundreds of countries across the world - to show our local
communities and the world what one billion looks like and shine a light on the rampant impunity and
injustice that survivors most often face.
We rise through dance to express joy and community and and celebrate the fact that we have not been defeated by this violence. We rise to show we are determined to create a new kind of consciousness - one where violence will be resisted until it is unthinkable.
THIS YEAR, WE ARE RISING IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST THE EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN.
Q. Why "One Billion"?
That is ONE BILLION WOMEN. Over the past four years, one billion women and men shook the earth through dance and a call for justice and an end to violence against women and girls. This year, on or around 14 February 2017 we are calling on women and men everywhere to harness their power and imagination to RISE IN SOLIDARITY AGAINST THE EXPLOITATION OF WOMEN.
Q. Why dance?
A. Many women across the world see dance as liberating and empowering. Women who experienced gender violence often hate their bodies and live outside them. The act of public dance can be part of a process of reclaiming and reentering their bodies. It can be a way of discarding shame and fear and coming back into their sexuality and power. It also provides a disruptive, joyful and artistic way of resistance. It allows us to go further, to include everyone, to tap into a revolutionary and poetic energy which is inviting us to take the lid off the patriarchal container releasing more of our wisdom, our self love, our sexuality, our compassion and fierceness. Dancing is defiance.
People from all across the globe - women, men, youth - from migrants, students, farmers, domestic workers, indigenous women, women workers, teachers, artists, activists, local government officials, and others - have danced in Risings around the world as part of One Billion Rising.

Mission Statement
Encouraging awe and loving intimacy with all of creation and the cosmos, we explore the visual and performing arts, dreams, wisdom teachings of Christ-Sophia in the Bible and newly found gnostic gospels, prayer, social activism, and relationships as we work to care for our common home Mother Earth, in a new kind of local and global community. Creating beloved community, we study the wisdom traditions and teachings of mysticism. Not following the "traditions" of the Christian church but the teachings of Jesus and Mary Magdalene we also honor all the world's religious wisdom teachings. We are a home church with people around the world via the Internet, exploring a new religious story for our time. Vision
Our vision is to spiritually awaken and raise our consciousness about the sacred nature of all life and our inter-connectredness in order to come together as a human family and
care
