Dear School Families,

Registration for 2017/2018 opened last week. A number of parents found their registration email from TADS in their SPAM. TADS will be re-sending a registration email to you within the next twenty four hours to ensure you receive it, please look in your SPAM. If you cannot find it contact Darlene Casey at 952-447-2124.  Do NOT let financial concerns prevent you from registering. Assistance is available and confidential. Preschool classes are filling quickly, please do not be caught off guard and end up on the waiting list.

We continue to receive numerous requests for information about St. Michael Catholic School and Faithful Beginnings Preschool. Nikki Draine can be seen touring families two mornings a week. Inevitably, families who visit indicate how impressed they are with the conduct of our students, the pride they demonstrate and the family atmosphere of our school.

A gentle reminder the registration fees increases dramatically March 1 st, this is from a $100.00 registration fee per child to a $200.00 registration fee per child. Be sure to register as soon as possible to help us plan for next year and to save you the increase in registration fees.

Catholic Schools Week Masses Thank you to students and staff for participating in our Catholic Schools Mass. Parishioners witnessed how well students are prepared for involvement in the liturgy. I am proud to know that ANY student at St. Michael Catholic School will participate when called upon! A special "thanks" to William Hockman who was "called upon" right before mass to read the petitions due to another student being ill. William, you read like you had practiced all week!

New Marketing Video Families and friends have been commenting on our new marketing video. A big shout out of thanks goes to Maggie Stack for organizing the content and time needed to record the video.  Click here to see what St. Michael is all about.

Blessings,

Laurie Maxwell

  socksSock Throw

Way to go St. Michael's students!  We collected 3, 941 pairs of socks in our sock throw!  These were donated to Sharing and Caring Hands.
 CSWCatholic Schools Week THANK YOU!
Many thanks to everyone who made Catholic Schools Week such a success! Parents volunteered their time to run the clock, scorebook, concession stand, and even announced at each game! The Athletic Committee worked together to make sure everything was running smooth and helped with clean up each night!  We couldn't have done it without all these wonderful volunteers!

A special thank you to Leo and Cindy Le, Fong's Restaurant, for donating food to the concession stand.  In one night, we were able to raise $1,480 for the Ronald McDonald House, in memory of Emily Kostik.

 VIRTUSVIRTUS Training
In response to the Charter for the Protection of Children and Youth, the Archdiocese of Minneapolis and St. Paul requires training sessions for all adult volunteers having contact with children, youth and vulnerable adults. The program specifically addresses how the entire parish and school communities can protect all of God's children from sexual abuse. Along with attending a Virtus session, a background check and code of conduct is required by those 18 and older to volunteer with minors and vulnerable adults. These items can be done online while registering for the Virtus session. Please see Stmichael-pl.org, under the faith formation tab with instructions on how to complete these items. A FREE VIRTUS training is being offered at St. Michael Catholic Church on Sunday, February 26th from 12:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. in Archangels Hall. Please register ahead online at www.virtus.org.
