Kindergarten Round Up: 6 PM, This Thursday, 2/9
Thursday evening this week beginning at 6:00 PM, we will be welcoming prospective Kindergartners to our school for our annual Kindergarten Round-Up. If you know of people with a Kindergarten-age child who would fit well with Saint Agnes's mission as a Catholic school, please let them know.  View and share the event on Facebook.

Hearing at the Capitol: 12 PM, This Thursday, 2/9
As well, this Thursday afternoon at 1:00 PM, any and all Saint Agnes school parents should please consider attending the House finance committee hearing at the State Capitol for the Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit bill, sponsored by Senator Roger Chamberlain (White Bear Lake/Stillwater area) and State Representative Ron Kresha (Little Falls area) with the full support of the Minnesota Catholic Conference (MCC) and Opportunity for All Kids (OAK). This is the bill I wrote about last week, which provides tax credit scholarship money to students whose parents are unable to afford private school.  We are hoping for a broad array of Saint Agnes community representatives (the public school teacher's union will be there to oppose school choice for all students). If you are able to arrive at Noon, we plan to meet with Representative Rena Moran (St. Paul state representative for the Saint Agnes area) to convince her of the value of this bill.

Visit from NCEA (National Catholic Education Assoc.) President
On Monday, January 30, NCEA president Dr. Thomas Burnford visited two schools in our archdiocese, of which Saint Agnes School was one. He wrote to say that his visit here was one of the highlight's of his trip to MN. Read the Letter from NCEA's President

Catholic Schools Week/Snow Days
We had a wonderful Catholic Schools Week and Snow Days this past week, with multiple alternative dress days and a load of special activities! The week was punctuated on Friday afternoon with Aggie apparel day and a K-6 meeting where the students performed a fun song, appreciated the people who make this Catholic school possible, and had some additional fun activities. The junior high and high school students had a wonderful pep fest Friday afternoon that involved special feats of strength and cunning, ending with the Aggie Rouser played by the band. Please join me in offering a big thank you to grade school teachers Ms. Ballman, Mr. Thompson, and Mrs. Richtsmeier, as well as 7-12 student council members, Mrs. Treichel (student council coordinator), all faculty members, and the maintenance staff for their hard work.

Grade School Student Volunteers Needed for Red & White Benefit
We need first through sixth graders for about one hour (7:15-8:30 PM) on Sat., 2/25, to help us raise money specifically for student financial aid. This is a wonderful way for our children to offer their time and talent for the sake of helping families who need it -- maybe even your own family.

Students in grades 1-4 along with 5-6 grade choir students are learning a song in class that will be featured during the "fund-a-need" portion of the event.  Please consider making the effort to have your child(ren) participate if you're not already attending or volunteering. If you are going to be on site with us that night, you might consider arranging a ride with a neighbor and/or older siblings. We encourage carpooling so that more students can be a part of this sold out event. We are expecting more than 500 guests!

IMPORTANT: Do NOT bring students directly to the school, but to the Cathedral.

Re-Enroll for 2017-18 Today! Process Closes This Friday, 2/10
The re-enrollment process for all returning students closes on February 10, 2017. If you did not receive an email with a unique link for your family to re-enroll, or you have questions about the process, please contact Mr. Joseph Olson

This year, we already have waiting lists established for some grades. F amilies who re-enroll after February 10, 2017, will be assessed an additional $100 late fee for each student added to their tuition agreement. In addition, out of fairness for all, those who re-enroll after February 10 will also be in the unfortunate position of your child(ren)'s spot(s) being released to new students.  Please re-enroll your child(ren) promptly to ensure a place for them next year.

After re-enrolling your child(ren) via TADS, you may use the corresponding tab within the site to apply for financial aid if necessary. F inancial Aid forms must be completed online or postmarked by February 28, 2017. Remember, only one form is needed per family. If we do not see a completed form by February 28, we will assume that your family does not need tuition assistance. Eligibility for certain scholarships and preferential consideration for additional aid are also lost if Financial Aid forms are received after February 28.

** IMPORTANT NOTE **
Please review all contact information in TADS during the re-enrollment process. Any updates made will eventually transfer to EDUCATE, so we ask that you ensure it is current and correct.
