OML Board District 6 Call For Nominations: Deadline February 20th
The OML District 6 Board seat has become open as of January 1 due to the resignation of John Fothergill. Nominations will be received until Monday, February 20, 2017 and will be presented to the OML board of directors at their next meeting. Any municipal official of any of the District 6 OML member municipalities that is interested in this position should submit a letter of interest, resume and a resolution from your municipality supporting your nomination to the OML offices, 201 NE 23rd Street, Attention: Nancee Morris to be received no later than Monday, February 20, 2017.

Congress of Mayors Held in Guthrie
The Mayors Council of Oklahoma (MCO) held its seventh annual Congress of Mayors last Friday at the state Scottish Rite Temple in Guthrie. During the course of the day the over 100 mayors, vice mayors, council members and city managers debated issues facing municipalities and crafted a legislative agenda for the 2017 legislative session. Former State Representative Joe Dorman served as parliamentarian again this year and Pryor Creek's Mayor Jimmy Tramel served as honorary Speaker of the House for the event. The goal of this Congress is to give mayors a better understanding of the legislative process and give them the opportunity to interact with their colleagues and lawmakers to get a real understanding of state issues. View Photos from the event here.

February 11th Workshop in Stillwater Next Opportunity to Satisfy Your New Official Educational Requirement
Throughout the year in six locations around the state, OML provides an intensive educational program specifically tailored for newly elected  and appointed  officials as well as experienced officials who want to keep up-to-date on municipal issues. An officer is defined in 11 O.S. Section 1-102 . The next workshops will be in Stillwater on Saturday, February 11, 2017 and Lawton on Thursday, March 23,2017. Placemaking Workshop March 10th -  OML and OU's Institute for Quality Communities Team Up!
The Oklahoma Municipal League is proud to announce a new and exciting partnership with the University of Oklahoma's Institute for Quality Communities (IQC). To introduce our members to IQC and what they have to offer, OU and OML are hosting a full day workshop to be held at the Norman Campus on March 10th (lunch and parking will be provided). The workshop will focus on placemaking; evaluating and improving public spaces. Placemaking is a process of creating quality public spaces based on local assets, culture, and preferences. This workshop will demonstrate the connection between placemaking and community development goals, share success stories from Oklahoma communities, and show how to evaluate public spacesMore Information
OML 2017 Salary Survey 
The Salary Survey is completed! We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the municipalities that participated in this year's survey. For those municipalities that participated in the survey a  complimentary  copy of the report has been emailed to the person that submitted the data. If you have not received it, contact Daniel McClure and he will be happy to get you a copy. Salary Survey Reports are available for members that did not participate for $50, email Daniel and he will get a copy sent right away. We have included a comment sheet as a back page to facilitate future improvements in the publication.
