Mississippi River Basin News
This Week in Washington
The Senate continued nomination hearings this week for President Trump's cabinet nominees. Democrats on the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee held a second hearing to hear from witnesses about President Trump's EPA nominee, Oklahoma Attorney General Scott Pruitt, record. While the Committee's Dems found plenty to disagree with, Pruitt's nomination is expected to continue forward and he will likely be confirmed soon. The House of Representatives continued working on committee organization before leaving town Wednesday evening. Republicans left DC for Philadelphia for the GOP retreat, where they met to discuss their agenda with President Trump.
