Principal's Message
Parents,
This morning I met with employees of Walnut Creek Flood Control as they examined the creek bordering our school. The water is swift, cold, and full of debris, so it seems an important time to remind all students to follow the "Stay Out, Stay Alive!" motto. Parents, please talk to your children about creek safety and reinforce these guidelines:
- Be aware of fences and warning signs identifying the flood control channels
- Stay out of the channels
- If you see a person in the channel, immediately call 911
- Inform your family members about the Program and its messages.
Support WCEF and #Turn Up the Heat
Join us in support of WCEF to #Turn Up the Heat Thursday and Friday by donating to WCEF in the red envelope you received today. Encourage your children to WEAR RED to support WCEF!

From the Office
Please remember to notify the office, not just your teacher, if your child will be missing school. Our teachers get very busy in the mornings and often don't see your emails or hear your voicemails until after attendance has been turned in.
We are noticing more and more students that are arriving at school prior to 8am. Please remember that children should not be dropped off before 8:00 AM as this poses a safety issue since there is no supervision and the gates to the fields are unlocked at that time. Students should be dropped off between 8:00 and 8:15. If this poses a problem, please contact Keyspot about registering your child(ren) for morning only sessions. Help us keep our students supervised and safe!

District News
District Master Plan
In June, 2016, WCSD passed a facility bond to upgrade facilities, infrastructure and improve energy efficiency in all Walnut Creek School District Schools. In November, the Governing Board contracted with WLC Architects to create a Master Plan for the district to ensure we have a comprehensive blueprint to provide students with safe, 21st century learning environments.
Please join us for a second site meeting offered to Murwood staff and community members along with District and Architectural representatives to engage stakeholders in defining the How and Why Schools look different in the 21st Century on March 13th from 3-5 PM.
