This position plays an essential role in ART 180's mission fulfillment, building relationships with our constituencies including program participants, volunteers, funders, and the media. The Communications Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and integration of a broad range of activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of the organization and its people. They will also help us expand earned income opportunities. This position reports directly to the Deputy Director and is supported by the Communications Committee.

Required qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in the communications field preferred; particular focus on marketing and/or creative strategy even better
* 3+ years of related work experience
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
* Strong editing and proofreading skills
* Extremely detail oriented
* Proven ability to work with diverse groups of people, as this position will interface with our participants, program leaders, a variety of communications volunteers, and the Board of Directors
* Aptitude for establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with a variety of internal and external constituents
* Demonstrated ability to multi-task and set goals and benchmarks
* Demonstrated ability to work independently
* Experience in the design process
* Competence with Adobe Creative Suite preferred
