Dear Friends, Family Members and Supporters:

As we start the 2016-17 academic year, we also embark on a milestone that will be celebrated throughout the year. It's the 10th anniversary of Providence Cristo Rey High School. It was on
August 15, 2007 when the Sisters of Providence, under the leadership of General Superior Sister Margaret Ann O'Hara agreed to sponsor our school and the doors were opened to the first students.
School principal Brian Dinkins (left), Providence Cristo Rey President Joseph P. Heidt (right) received a proclamation from City of Indianapolis Councillor Vop Osili (center).

To kick off this year-long celebration, we hosted an assembly  August 12 where students, faculty, staff, alumni, and special guests began the morning with prayer and reflection. We were honored to have City-County Councillor Vop Osili read a proclamation recognizing "Providence Cristo Rey Day," and members of our alumni, participate in a panel discussion on how best to prepare for college. We're also excited about collecting items for our school's 10-year anniversary time capsule.

Later that day, for the second time in our school's history, we hosted a "Draft Day." This year, with our largest incoming class to date - 103 students representing 46 different schools in Central Indiana - we moved our Draft Day activities to a larger location.

Eli Lilly welcomed more than 25 of our students.

St. Vincent Health drafted 10 students.
St. Francis Health will have seven student workers.

Frost Brown Todd welcomed a new student this year.
Taft supports three of our students.

Representatives from Klipsch took part in our second draft day.

University of Indianapolis Executive Vice President and Provost David Wantz is pictured with the "bow tie brigade" at draft day.

Thanks so UINDY, we were able to host more than 100 Corporate Work Study Partner representatives and our entire student body inside the University of Indianapolis Athletic Recreation Center (ARC). Watch a video and see more photos here. Each student was paired with one of our Corporate Work Study partner companies for what is sure to be an amazing year of career and college readiness. We look forward to sharing more great news with you in the months to come. See coverage by WTHR-Channel 13 here, and by Chalkbeat here.

Thanks for supporting our great school with your gifts, prayers and talents.

The faculty, staff and students of Providence Cristo Rey High School

Meet our New Faculty
As our student body continues to grow, we are blessed to have a staff of professional educators dedicated to the mission of Providence Cristo Rey. This year, in addition to many returning teachers we have several newcomers, including a new vice principal. Also joining our staff are two teachers with the Alliance for Catholic Education, ACE, and one teacher from Echo. Both programs are sponsored by the University of  Notre Dame for the purpose of bringing new teachers into the schools and providing enhanced Catholic education. Student Spotlight: May we all be Saints.

The campus ministry theme for the 2016-17 academic year is "May we all be Saints," a quote from Mother Theodore Guerin. As part of the mission of Providence Cristo Rey, students develop  a consciousness of God's continual presence and
