What are Patronage Dividends?
They are a sustainable method of distributing profits to Syracuse Real Food Co-op member/owners. The dividend program allows the board to decide how much to return after the Co-op's books are closed and the retained portion of the total dividends builds the Co-op's financial stability.
Dividends are different every year and are determined by how much you spend at the store. Therefore, the more you shop, the more you are eligible to earn in dividends. There are some years that the Co-op Board of Directors may choose not to distribute a dividend because the Co-op did not generate adequate profits in that particular year.
We are excited about the Patronage Program and expect it to reward members for their loyalty in shopping at the Co-op and help us to be true to our seven co-op principles.
