Caring for Families Who Love Their Pets

What Makes Chartiers Custom Pet Cremation Special?

After the loss of your beloved pet, people often wonder, how can I transport my pet?

At Chartiers Custom Pet Cremation, your family can choose to have your pet received at your home or at your veterinarian's office

Moving your pet's body after it has passed can be traumatic for families. You may have health limitations that make moving your pet difficult.  If you choose to have Chartiers transport your pet, you can be confident that this phase of your pet's aftercare will be handled with care and respect.

If you prefer, your family can bring your pet directly to CCPC. For some, it is comforting to be the one who takes your pet on its final car ride.
Coming to CCPC  gives you an opportunity to see the facility and ask any questions you may have about the cremation process.

What Would Happen To Your Pet If You Suddenly Went Into The Hospital?

Life often throws us "curve balls" and we end up in places we never dreamed we would be.  Maybe a car accident or a chronic illness has rendered you needing immediate in-patient hospital care or possibly even a temporary rehab stay.  If a situation like this were to arise in your life, do you have a plan as to who will take care of your beloved pet until you return home?

In Pittsburgh, we are fortunate to have Valerie Hoegel, founder of Hospaws.  She established this organization after witnessing families torn apart when a sudden hospitalization left no one at home to care for the pet. As a volunteer at a shelter, she saw an elderly Great Pyrenees pass away just days after being surrendered to the shelter when his owner went into the hospital.  Certain he died of a broken heart, Valerie organized a network of volunteers who board pets in the volunteer's home until the owner is discharged from the hospital.

Hospaws not only serves the needs of hospitalized families but also gives the volunteers the ability to care for a pet without making a commitment to adopting one.  So now that you know...do you have a heart for hospaws?

If you know of someone with a pet who needs care or someone who would like to be a Hospaws volunteer,
