FPSSC UPDATES

We had a wonderful Holiday Season with our congregations and families.  Thank you so much for all the hard work everyone puts in to making this program amazing!  The families shared a wonderful Christmas Eve Dinner pictured below with our Family Service Coordinator, Lori MacNamara, whose family provided the meal that evening and fellowship.

FAMILY UPDATES

We have had our second family receive a car from The Recycled Rides Program this time in partnership with Gerber Collision.  These car donations make such a huge impact on families without transportation which is something some of us may take for granted.  Imagine trying to accomplish everything you do each day without a reliable mode of transportation to do it.  Getting a donated car means the family can now accomplish so much more in less time and without as much hassle.  This also enables the family to search a broader area for housing they can afford and a job that will pay enough for the children and the family to thrive.  I applaud these programs and the wonderful work they do!

FROM THE DIRECTOR

I hope everyone had an enjoyable holiday season!  As part of our Follow-Up Care portion of the program, we have recently gotten freezers and fridges at the Day Center to allow us to provide families with extra food and help them cut down the cost of feeding their children.  We are accepting frozen foods that we can give to the families during their Monthly Follow-Up Care Case Management Meetings.  These would include things like frozen meals (lasagna, chicken and rice bake, etc.), breads and meats.  Things that freeze well and will ensure that the children who have been through our program have plenty to eat will gladly be accepted.  We are working with businesses and organizations in the area as well to help us provide other needed items.

I was recently asked for VIDEOS to share with congregations at services and with the general public when speaking about Family Promise.
I have recently uploaded a couple of videos onto our website, www.familypromisessc.org   that can be used to explain the Family Promise Program.   They can be found by scrolling down on our home page.  These videos can be viewed on smart phones and tablets as well by going to the website (if you have internet service) and clicking on them.

Also, remember you can share these newsletters with others by clicking on "Forward To A Friend" at the bottom of the page or they can go to our website and fill out the form to submit a request to be added to the mailing list.  These newsletters are also posted on the website below the videos to allow you to access them anytime.  Thank you for helping us get the word out about what we do!  It is wonderful to see so much support in our community for this program and for the families we serve!  Thank you!

Thank you for all you do!
Sincerely,
