  New Thousand Oaks Businesses


DeLiese Cellar, a wine tasting business, opened at 1850 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

Poke Land, a sushi restaurant, opened at the Conejo Valley Plaza, located at 1396 N. Moorpark Road (previously Subway).

Thinessence, a holistic hypnosis weight loss and wellness center, opened at the Watercourt,  900 Hampshire Road.

Parma Pizzeria Napoletana restaurant opened at the Heritage Plaza,  796 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

CINQO, a Mexican restaurant, opened the Oakbrook Plaza, 2024 Avenida de Los Arboles, Unit #D.

The Habit Burger Grill opened at the North Gate Plaza, 3980 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

Circus Trix , an indoor trampoline recreational use facility, filed an application with the City to open at the Janss Marketplace.   

Grabbagreen, a fast healthy food restaurant, opened at Skyline Plaza, 2835 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
  December Auto Sales


A total of 2,289 new vehicles were sold in December 2016. New vehicles sales increased by 23.37 percent from November 2016, and increased by 12.45 percent from a year ago.  Additionally, 767 pre-owned vehicles were sold.
  County Unemployment Stats


The California Labor Market report revealed that Ventura County's December 2016 unemployment rate of 4.8 percent was down from a revised 5.0 in November.  A total of 1,400 non-farm jobs were added in December 2016. However 1,300 jobs were lost, for a net increase of 100 jobs. The loss in jobs includes 400 in professional and business services, 300 in construction, 300 in manufacturing, 200 in government and 100 in other services. The gain includes 700 in trade, transportation and utilities, 500 in educational and health services and 200 in leisure and hospitality.
