Tauber solutions: lean transformation

The Challenge: Develop strategies to reduce production cycle time, eliminate waste, and foster a lean culture in Dell contractor Foxconn's San Jeronimo plant.

The Solution: The 2016 Dell Tauber Project Team of Seng-Hsiang Lin (MEng Manufacturing '16), Siddarth Shanker (MSCM '16), and Mi Yu (MSCM '16) used a data-driven approach to identify key areas for improvement, then held a kaizen town hall to brainstorm improvement ideas with both management and frontline workers. The team chose six out of 47 ideas to implement, providing role models for plant management and workers for gaining efficiency through kaizen.
