It has been a great summer at EPICentre!  We have expanded once again with new programs, such as the EPIC Founders and our cross-campus EPIC Faculty Fellows Program! We've been strengthening and redesigning other programming, including venture mentoring and interdisciplinary entrepreneurial activities.  Our upcoming events scheduled for the fall are geared to scientists, engineers and creative artists (see our events page). EPICentre Annual Report
 
We are proud to publish EPICentre's first annual report!
This report provides a summary on what EPICentre has been up to and the impact it has made on entrepreneurial communities on and off campus between January 2014 and April 2015. EPIC Founders Demo Day
 
On July 31, 2015, seven start-ups participating in EPICentre's EPIC Founders Program pitched their ideas and demonstrated their prototypes at the EPIC Founders Demo Day to the community. The 12 founders making up these start-ups consisted of students and recent graduates from the University of Windsor and St. Clair College, and made up the first cohort of EPICentre's EPIC Founders ProgramREAD MORE

Intellectual property rights are the drivers of the knowledge economy. As a result, international and domestic IP laws play an important role in ensuring global innovative capacity. However, IP laws on their own do not translate into positive economic outcomes. In fact, in spite of having some of the most sophisticated and modern IP laws in the world, Canada fares poorly in a number of reports on global innovation competitiveness, especially in its inability to effectively commercialize IP.  READ MORE 
Cross-Border Logistics Lunch 'N Learn with Laurie Tannous

On August 20th, EPICentre hosted Institute for Border Logistics and Security CEO Laurie Tannous to inform our members and the Windsor community on issues related to cross-border business. The sold-out event was a tremendous success, and will be a recurring event at EPICentre. READ MORE 

EPIC Mentorship Program - Fall 2015
 
EPICentre offers students and recent graduates the help of a mentor, to work on their business over the course of four months. This program, one of many offered at EPICentre, is for entrepreneurs in the idea-phase of their start-ups. Successful candidates will work toward idea validation and have the chance to earn a $1,000 grant to help kick-start their business. READ MORE

Financial Markets Lab @ Odette School of Business

This summer, the Enterprise Consulting Team partnered with the Financial Markets Lab at the Odette School of Business in order to provide better secondary research for the team's clients. The Financial Markets Lab is equipped with state of the art Bloomberg software as well as other numerous resources designed to enhance the research capabilities of undergraduate students. READ MORE 
BioTechnology Innovations Solutions Competition

UWindsor's first Bio Innovative Solutions (BIS) competition is inviting university and college students to submit problem solving proposals related to biotechnology - the field studying the use of living organisms in product development. The competition will take place October 3, 2015 during the Biotechnology Entrepreneurship Symposium held at the University of Windsor, hosted by the Masters of Medical Biotechnology Program (MMB), Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, and the support of EPICentre. READ MORE
