Honoring Dena and Baruch Brody
March 12, 2017
Dena and Baruch Brody, who were instrumental in the growth and development of The Hebrew Academy, now known as Robert M. Beren Academy (RMBA), are making aliyah in 2017. In recognition of their significance to the Houston Jewish community, both RMBA and United Orthodox Synagogues (UOS) are honoring them
on Purim, Sunday,
March 12, 2017, with a special Purim seudah (festive dinner) at UOS. More details to follow in January 2017.

What a great night watching and cheering on alumni and RMBA Stars basketball teams! Thank you to all that came out, alumni, students, faculty, parents and friends, for this exciting evening. Thank you to co-chairs Steven Mitzner and Adina Passy for organizing.

STONE SOUP
Mrs. Blumberg's Kindergarten class had a fantastic time reading and discussing 4 versions of the story Stone Soup. Their favorite activity was preparing and cooking the soup which they shared with many guests who smelled the wonderful aromas throughout the school. A VISIT TO THE SHUK
At Thursday's Ulpan Maasi, Bnot Sherut Shira and Adi recreated Machane Yehuda, the Jerusalem Market, where students had the opportunity to shop for the ingredients on their list to prepare coconut chocolate balls with sprinkles. Students were excited to keep the decadent recipe.

This week's high school Judaic electives were taught by none other than visiting Yeshiva University students!
EARLY PESACH PREPARATIONS
EC3 student Yardana Stern enjoyed crafting and decorating a baby Moshe in preparation of Pesach.
On Sunday night alumni teams faced off against the high school boys and girls basketball teams. The score? Stars were victorious- definitely a fun game to watch with 4 home teams, all RMBA Stars!
EC3 student Evey Murchison had a great time using chunky beads and a pattern board to guide her in the construction of her giant bead tower.

Middle School Girls - The MS girls basketball team will host Logos Prep on
Thursday, January 19th at 5:30 PM.
Middle School JV Boys
- The MS JV boys will play their last game when they host Logos Prep at
4:30 PM on Thursday, January 19th.
Middle School Varsity Boys
- The MS Varsity boys will host at Logos at
5:30 on January 19th.
HS Girls
The HS Girls are now 2-1 in TAPPS on the year after beating Briarwood
on Tuesday. Next up for the Lady Stars is
a away game at Victory Prep on January 19th.
HS Boys
The HS Boys won a very exciting game district game
on Tuesday against Briarwood. The Stars are 2-1 in TAPPS play. They will be on the court again on
January 24th as they travel to Brazosport Christian.
