Important Newsletter Changes!

time_for_change.jpg
The content & frequency of t
he E l Sol has changed- Please Read!!!

We have changed two aspects of our El Sol, effectively immediately
1) Frequency:
Instead of seeing the El Sol in your email boxes every single week, you will find the publication coming to you only twice a month.

2) Program Information that is Not PTA or School-Sponsored:
We will no longer include articles that contain information about classes/programs that are not PTA or school-sponsored. See our  Community Events Web Page regarding this  information moving forward.

For more information, see our PTA Newsletter Web Page

We are also in need of another person to
take on the role of Editor/Assistant Editor for the El Sol.
The above changes help make this a manageable task for new editors.
T
raining and support will be complete and substantial.  This position affords the ability for you to volunteer on your own time from home.
Please contact us @ adminsupport@puestadelsolpta.org
with any questions or to express your interest

The PTA Nominating Committee Needs YOU!
We are in immediate need of 2-3 more PTA Members to help fill our Nominating Committee.

The Nominating Committee is responsible for helping to develop a slate of people to take over the PTA Board positions that will be open next year.  It allows for a large, positive impact on our PTA, but with a flexible, short time commitment.

Library News from Sra. Brody
Library Report  - Each trimester I will be writing a "Library Report".  This report features curriculum I have been working on with classes from September through December.  At the bottom of the report is a feature about our databases and the home log-ins. Enjoy reviewing the Library Report.

Reading Challenges  - Each year I create "Reading Challenges" featuring books from a variety of genres in the hope that students will read something new and interesting that will help ignite their love of reading.  This week the Challenge books will be on display in the library.  There will be a bookmark list of the books for students in 2nd and 3rd grade, and another bookmark for students in 4th and 5th grade. There are both English and Spanish books listed on each bookmark.  Students who read the required number of books on the list (or all of the books) will receive a bag of prizes, including a book, at the recognition assembly at the end of the year.

Library Collection  - Please save your used ink cartridges of any size, and old cell phones and turn them in to the library. Put a collection box at your office! The company I send them to gives me points that can be turned in to cash at the end of the year. I use the money to replace books that are tired and worn out. The funds help keep our book collection current and looking good. Thanks for the help!
