Buds Learn About Winter with Hibernation Day

Buds classes culminated learning about bears and other animals in winter by wearing pajamas, eating warm breakfast foods, "ice skating" and reading "The Napping House" by Audrey and Don Wood while cuddling under warm blankets.

 
Kindergarten Comes Together for Shema Under the Stars

This week at Shema under the Stars, Kindergarten students and their parents came to school for  a beautiful evening of crafting, learning and visiting the cafe together, 



First Graders Review Sefer Bereishit with RPRY Students

This week our 1st Graders played virtual jeopardy with the 1st Graders of RPRY. In honor of completing Sefer Bereishit in Parshat Hashavua, the students reviewed the information they have studied in a meaningful and fun way.

 
First Graders Learn About Martin Luther King Jr.

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, the First Graders learned about Martin Luther King Jr. They learned about his famous 
"I Have a Dream" speech and how he wanted equality for everyone. The children each wrote about their own dreams they have for themselves, their community, and the world.

 
New Go Math! Curriculum in First Grade

Using the new curriculum Go Math!, First Graders are learning addition and subtraction utilizing manipulative tools such as snap cubes.

     
First Grade Prepares to Receive Siddurim

The Parent-Child Learning event for First Graders in preparation for receiving their siddurim next month was enjoyed by the students and their parents.

Assemblies in Honor of MLK Day

In honor of Martin Luther King Day, students in Grades 2-5 participated in assemblies with Mr. Arnold Brown, Esq., who was involved in the March on Washington with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and was present at the "I Have a Dream" speech. He shared his experiences with the students and spoke about the importance of equality and freedom. 


  
Students Celebrate Ivrit Day

Today Elementary School students celebrated Yom Hasafah Ha'Ivrit, Hebrew Language Day, with a real life Israeli Aroma Cafe prepared by our B'not Shlichut. Students ordered popcorn, hot cocoa and more by only speaking in Hebrew and played a team game with iPads guessing Hebrew words.


Students Shine at Spelling Bee

Congratulations to all the finalists in the Yeshivat Noam 5th-8th Grade Spelling Bee. Congratulations to winner, Rami Gertler and Runner-up Adir Koenig! Rami will continue on to represent Yeshivat Noam in the North Jersey Spelling Bee competition in the Spring.

We are profoundly saddened to announce the passing of Mr. Jordan Levy, husband of Susan, father of Mattea (6 G2) and Hayden (3 A). 

Shiva will take place at the Levy home, 24 Powder Horn Drive, Suffern, NY 10901 until Sunday morning, January 22, 2017.  Please do not visit between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm or after 10:00 pm.
