From the Commodore
Winter is certainly upon us... some have had snow, some have not; some have had ice, some have not; but we all have missed our boats.
Let's think Spring!
It is time for planning my friends. We all need to start thinking about what is our yacht club going to look like this year? How many functions will we have? Who is going to plan these functions? Will there be a newsletter? Will there be an Opening Weekend ceremony? Bowleys Marina Opening Weekend is June 2 - 4th. Will there be an annual crab feast? Are we going to have any yacht club cruises? Who, what, where, when are the questions we need to think about and plan to discuss at our first meeting. If there is one thing I am sure of, is the fact that we all love to boat, hang with our friends, and enjoy the water, smells of summer and getting together for some fun. Let's get together on Saturday April 22nd at noon in the Chandlery for our first meeting of 2017 and plan some fun.

Fleet Captain
|
Fleet Captain ~~ We are still very much in need of a Fleet Captain for 2017, if you wish to volunteer. Several members offered to jump in and plan a single trip, no fluff... just a cruise to a destination. Skip Wilkins offered to chair a committee and Denise Mineo and Rich Brzezowski agreed to meet to discuss further.

Rear Commodore
|
Rear Commodore ~~ a volunteer is still needed for Rear Commodore 2017, but until we have one we will be looking to have volunteers on a monthly basis to write the newsletter. Please contact Commodore Sharron Gilbert as to which month (April, May, June, July, August, September or October) of 2017 you would like to write. She will provide you with an outline and our very talented Corresponding Secretary Alice Buchman produces the finished product.

Vice Commodore
|
Vice Commodore ~~ a volunteer is still needed for Vice Commodore 2017. It was agreed at our meeting that a seasoned retired officer or outgoing Fleet Captain may volunteer for this very important position. Until we have a volunteer, your Commodore is asking someone to take an individual event to plan and execute.
Looking forward to many ideas and volunteers.
